You have no idea how happy you girls are making me!!! If they will take my cc # over the phone you can call me and then we can work something out with you shipping them to me…maybe a flat rate priority envelope…OMG!! I can paypal too! just let me know what you prefer!!!

The knee hold thread sparked this question in my mind because I think that whenever I am at the level to try the knee hold I’ll have problems with the upper leg (as well as the lower knee agony) because my "knee pits" are weak as hell.

Are there excercises or beginner/intermediate type moves that I can do to build up knee pit tolerance? It’s really causing me to struggle with my Gemini too (as you saw the other night Veena).

Maybe I should just start wacking myself behind the knees with a big stick to deaden the nerves LOL. You know, like a Muay Thai fighter! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_twisted.gif

Next week I’ll show you what used to do to "strengthen" my knee pits…I believe Jamilla calls it a flatline gemini…

Well it doesn’t feel like I’m making any progress on this one. I can’t get my legs up and twisted. Is there a way to get into this move while on the pole that might be easier to just get the idea of what the final hold/position should feel like? I thought about maybe from a raverse aysha?

sometimes i like to practice my body positioning by inverting and then caterpilling up then instead of doing a regular grip (like for a traditional split grip) I twist my hand around to get the tg grip…then I let go with my feet/legs….think of doing a split grip straight edge with out doing a cartwheel mt…it’s the same idea except you change the grip…

Yup…I was at S Factor last night and the old shorts are on sale as well…not too many left…let me know what sizes you are looking for.

OMG!!! I want sz L!! If you can round some up for me I would so paypal you some $$$$!!!! How much did they have them on sale for??? I’m not to picky on colors…I’ll take them all!!! hehe https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Not sure if anyone is located near an S-Factor but the one near me has a limited supply of the old shorts. Not only do the new shorts have the logo, but they are a different material and fit. I love the old ones and am planning on raiding the store before they’re all gone! I can check on colors and sizes and maybe we can work something out to help you girls! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif

I’ve been looking for their source for several weeks! It’s frustrating. I finally found the perfect pole shorts, and now….gone.

On the plus side, a friend of mine sent me this in an email earlier today…

I too have been looking for their sourse…i’m even contemplating having my mom make me some…it’s nice having a mother who can make anything! lol

interesting….when you climb are you putting your "second" foot behind your first…or are you wrapping it infront of the pole??? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

    Nice post!!

    Easy:
    elbow & split grip anything
    climb, sit, pose
    spin mode https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
    cartwheel, handspring & tg mts
    knee hold
    aerial invert/aerial shouldermount

    Hard:
    forearm grips
    jade
just about anything on my "bad side"
    slides (I know…that’s sounds silly..)
iguana (hit or miss….more hits recently.\)
getting into figure head from superman(ahhh…I am determined to get this consistantly!!)

I could easily list a ton in both groups…but that’s all for now!!

Great job! Now that you have the positioning down, you can work on the other grips in the butterfly as well (forearm grip, elbow grip). I found that really helpful when I was working on the forearm grip. I actually started my butterfly with the elbow grip, then split grip then forearm (forearm grip eluded me for a while)! That is great preparation for more advanced moves to come!!

I think some call it a humming bird….you can transition out of it into a knee hold, gemini etc…

love this move for strengthing the hamstrings…

becareful if you are wearing heels when doing this…my foot slipped once and I banged my "no no business" right on the pole…and then went crashing to the floor laughing!! I should post that video…nahhh! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
