I think it has to do with what you did when you were younger and aging…Me for example…I figure skated for 15 yrs and there was A LOT of impact on my joints from all the jumps…now at thirty my joints pop all the time. I definitely could not be a burglar!! You could hear me a mile away…but the popping didn’t start until maybe three years ago…so I say it has to do with getting older and how much abuse you gave to your joints when you were younger…
was that just redundant? lol

Okay so this is a subject that is dear to my heart. I started poling after having my second child…during my pregnancy I gained 90 lbs…you heard that correctly! I went from 155 lbs to 250lbs! When I started poling I couldn’t even step around the pole with one hand…and I’m so not joking! I kept at it and before I knew it the weight started dropping off of me and I was getting stronger and stronger. Eventually I lost all of my weight and I kept getting stronger…now I’ve put on three pounds but my body fat% is lower than it was before and I’m stronger then I EVER have been so I know it’s all muscle. I’m 5’6" and as of this morning I was 158….not what I want but i’m not beating myself up over it. The point is I don’t want to hear ANYONE say they can’t pole because of their weight. When I started I was well over 200 lbs and in two weeks I’m going to be competing at the USPDF East Coast competition! If I can do it, so can you!!! I know first hand the frustration of poling with a little extra but I also know the gratification that comes with proving to myself that I can do it no matter my size. Stripping is fine and pole dancing is fine. And those who dont agree can just have theyr close minded opinion if they want and I couldnt care less. This song has nothing to do with you at all. It wasnt written about you personally and I really dont think that anyone else is reading anything into this video at all exept some non stripping pole dancers.
I don’t think there are double standards. I think that because the name of the song is Porn star dancing. Then it just seems so normal to have poledancing in the video. Pornstars/strippers are very often pole dancers. The dancers in the video are supposed to play the role of the porn star dancing (and I think most people agree) and why would people be commenting that those are strippers or porn stars when that seems to be obvious in the video. Therefore, no double standards. No one is mixing together the stripper/pornstar/whore/slut (what ever people may call them) with the pole dancing fitness non stripping women in the video. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
Personally I dont mind people connecting pole dancing with stripping or something else. Its one of the things that makes pole dancing so exciting. And its still a big taboo for some. I dont want that to go away. People wouldnt be nearly as intrested in our dancing if it werent for that.
