I think recording yourself is the best and most accurate way of judging how far you have truly come! I record myself at almost every practice..my problem is that I don’t always have time to go back and watch the vid! lol https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

You really have to think of a line that goes vertically through your body and you have to learn to balance your weight between both sides. I know that probably dosen’t make sense. Closing your eyes can work only if you have a really good propreoceptive awareness. I personally do a fixed gaze out to nowhere! lol Literally I fix my gaze out infront of me at nothing imparticular….when I don’t do this I get crazy dizzy! Also keeping your whole body strong during the spin will help keep even blood flow through your body therefore reducing dizzyness….but really practice makes perfect!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I’m actually flying into Detroit…getting a rental and dr iving to Hillsdale….I may or may not be able to get back to the Detroit area as I am traveling with a co-worker. But I think it would depend on where and how long it would take me to get there. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif I would love to jam while I’m there!

I don’t feel we pole dancing needs to be in the olympics, I do think it needs to be an organized sport, but as it is, why change it to gain acceptance? Pole dancing weeds out the weak, mentally and physycally, polers are women with strong personalities who stand up for their passion no matter what others say or think about it, we have poles in the middle of our living room for f’s sake, if Pole is even in the olympics it would be just another apparatus in a gymnastics routine, like others already said, it would be 16 year old gymnasts competing, flipping on a vertical bar, there will be no dancing,I think a lot of polers are under the impression that our pole dancers would be competing, I do not believe that’s the case, already made gymnasts would be training on pole and that’d be it, it would be unaccessible for all of us, one of the things that is so awesome about pole dancing is that women of all ages, all sizes all shapes, who get hooked on poling and are really serious about can and do get incredibly strong and take stages by storm all over the world, they are stars. I dont think being in the olympics would gain us acceptance either, well….only if you train barefeet and in a sports bra, I am pretty we, polers in 7inch heels and small bikinis will still be looked down on, there will be the "Pole athletes/gymnasts" and those other "dirty whores" who refuse to take off those stripper heels. hahahahahaha. that’s how I see it anyway.
I completely agree… I posted something similar to this in a previous thread. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif Besides…Ballet is very artistic and very physically demanding but you don’t see them petitioning to get into the olympics. I think it would completely change the ambiance of it. We all agree that pole is athletic and that it is a form of self expression (artistic) but how is it any different from any other form of dance…which btw are not olympic sports? If anything…pole dance would probably be the last form of dance to be accepted into the olympics just because of the stigmata behind it. I think we as a pole community should take baby steps in getting the recognition and acceptance…like in our own homes and neighborhoods then shoot for our cities and states and the country…i https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I was told that Butterfly balm is Cramers Firm Grip paste. I saw another instructor with it and it looks exactly the same. This stuff is VERY difficult to get off of your skin and will likely prevent you from doing any spins afterwards.
I agree with the no spins…however, firm grip comes off easily with rubbing alcohol! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

the one thing that has been assumed in this thread is that ALL the high cost (USPDF..etc) training programs include "business start up" info…I’ve been doing some research here and there because I do think it’s import to have certs under the belt…but why would I spend $3000 and not get the business inside info? does that make sense. I have no problem paying for a good training program and for the time spent in developing the training program if I’m going to get the business side too. But I haven’t found too many $$$ trainings that include good business info. The flip side if I’m not looking for the business side I shouldn’t have to pay $3000 either. You can get a reputable PS cert for $400. I don’t know of an organized sport that costs that much for training either…in figure skating your certification was your experience….same for gymnastics etc.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t believe the USPDF includes business info in their $3500 training…and it’s only good for two years?!?!?!
So yes I will pay for you too teach me how to start my business and to help me be a better teacher and yes I would probably be willing to pay $3500…ouch! lol But if an only if it includes this information because as Empyrean said it will save me $$ in the long run.
Sorry if none of this makes sense…I’ve been battling a horendous headache for three days and i can’t quite think straight…lol

!!!! !!!! THOSE ARE SO EXCITING.
I never even knew such a thing existed! All that cheek but ALL THAT MATERIAL.Has anyone tried the cheekies from victoria’s secret while we’re on the subject of cheek and crotch? I’m wondering if they’re worth VS prices.
love love love the cheekies from vc’s!! i pole in them all the time at home…i think they have pretty good crotch coverage…but i think it would be different on each person! I really like the cheekier tangas…great V cut that fit nice on hips and booty!
