You are so sweet!!! I have only done small competitions around the area, but I want to be capable of sooo much more!!! It is hard with some people on this sight and all over youtube… so much to compare to… even though I shouldn’t be doing that LOL

I would also love to skype if anyone is down!
-
I would love if more people would use the video chat! Pole jams are my fix when I can’t make it to a studio!

Wow I can’t believe I’ve missed this post!!! My world had been completely turned upside down even to the pint where the thought of poling depressed me… I was opening up a studio with some friends, and like most partnerships, they fall apart… Not only did I lose my closest friends (who ended up not being who I thought they were to begin with) but I also felt like pole now was tainted with all this heart ache as I lost my dream of owning a studio! I lost strength and stopped making progress but had to remind myself that my dream was to wow people with what pole can be and with the strength and grace I thought I would learn and show, not to simply own a building with poles in it. I am finally ( and I mean literally this week) really trying again and actually having fun with pole again… This really can be a beautiful journey and I’m back to wanting to be the best poler I can be but also enjoying the strength and empowerment that it originally brought me!!! Sorry for the rant but thank you for the post! I forget how much pole really speaks to my heart and this was a great way to remind me!!!

Any advice you get I could use too I have been working on this for too long and it is angering me too!!! I am about where you are as well! I started shifting my focus to deadlifting thinking it would help build more muscle to hold better but I don’t know of it is helping any…

I thought the chatroom disappeared I am so glad you posted this!! LOL do you still do the video chat?
-
I stopped taking mine down… our landlord probably thinks I am nuts especially now that we completely converted the front room into a studio so there is really no other explanation LOL
-
I love that I am stealing that and can’t wait to see what reactions I get!!!

I was lucky that I took care of mine when it was a slight strain because I hear the horror stories all the time and hamstrings take forever to heal… Mine was very minute and it took almost a month!

MemberMarch 22, 2014 at 2:38 am in reply to: Signs of hamstring Injury vs normal fatigue while flexibility training?I am not an expert by far I had a slight strain in my hamstring and if I describe my pain I’m hoping it will help you decipher… I had pain not when stretching but when I would stand up and bring my heel to my butt… Almost like warming up for running and kicking your heels to your butt to warm up… So I know that is a sign of a strain… If you need ideas for PT I still have all of that info 🙂

Good words poledanceromance!!!! I have been struggling with the stigma of pole for a long time to the point where I almost lost my job because of it! My husband struggled but he is now so supportive but only because we discussed and worked through it together I hope the same will happen for all others going through the same!

Yes forgot to clarify DB is on a 45 titanium pole

Awesome and do you suggest practicing more kicking into it or some have told me to practice slowly lowering out of it like reversed…

Runemist I think everyone’s skin is different cuz I couldn’t grip my powder coated for the life of me… Lol but totally know what you mean by it getting too hot!!! I once did a drop on my powder coated and burnt a huge chink of my thigh!!! I will never forget that!!! I think that adds to my biased opinion lol
-
I have danced on powder coated (personally hated that finish) and stainless steel and now own a chrome… so far my favorite out of those is chrome… haven’t tried the others to compare it to though.

LOL I usually just drop to the floor on my feet and scream in pain as it feels my finger prints are being yanked off!!! Maybe I am clear to rob a bank though… hmm JK

I have found super intense stuff here but that is hard! I would love to see a more athletic stunt like version of chair. I know this doesn’t help… sorry but I am sure it will be fun!!!

This was great to read I recently quit teaching at my studio in hopes of opening my own… That wound up not happening and I’ve been lacking motivation to pole at home as a result… I think I feel unable to teach myself even though I used to teach others… Funny… Love the suggestions here gonna try some tomorrow!! Thanks for posting!!!

Now to just move forward…

I love how well you describe why this is more than just dancing on a pole!!! People really don’t understand why it overtakes you the way it does and you hit it on the dot!!!

Not many people post about the grip I use but I swear by it… When I am on static I use either titegrip or dry hands but when I am learning harder tricks or am on spin… I go for Cramers Firm Grip… I order it from a medical supply place and it’s great and definitely does the job!
