Being organized and focused during my practices one of my biggest downfalls. I’ve had paper lists but don’t really refer back to them. I kind dance /stretch warm up and then do a lot of stuff I can already do and then a few tries on this or that …seriously what ever pops into my head at the time that at least is kinda chronologically next but then give up and go on to something next. Each practice is this way ..that is why I don’t really get newer stuff on my own. I forget the ones I wanted to focus on and kinda just stray around all over the place! LOL

also what would be cool is if you could build your list or box check type pole tricks/spins that you are currently working on and then be able to mark them off. Also/or some personal type of pratice organizer/planner daily/bi weekly. Something to keep track of progress and be organized with your plans.

I now have the blk foam roller and a video for massage/flexability. I really enjoyed the workout. Parts of it were uncomfortable but I just imagined my muscles loosening up so that I may be more flexy later on. They had stabilization and core moves too. I hope to do this several times a week and hopefully it helps!

I started doing pushups and tricep dips at work ( nightime shift) to get something done to help on the days I work 16 hrs. I was totally thinking about a barre type workout too, my legs are not really too strong and flexy My lift with or without heels is pretty sad when I do a v leg spin – I feel the weekness in my abs AND legs for that one. Maybe spin/cycling will help with that too. I am really pleased with all the responses and thanks for the help if anyone else tunes in I am grateful. There is so much I want to do and have a go at!

Thank you very much, its made out of two 3m scaffolding poles joined together with a special pole joiner them rammed into the ground at one end and tied to the fork of the tree at the other, i also put a cross bar for rigidity, so its about 4m or so of use able pole.
I work for a company that uses these poles for rigging lighting etc

I love this move – I stil count to 3 before I do it.

I haven’t fallen out of it – it doesn’t mean you can’t but if you push straight up into it – it’s not so bad. My first attempt was spotted and if you can you should have a spotter for this or go to an open pole somewhere and ask for a spot.

I counted to 3 before waxing myself! LOL each painful strip LOL

There are some days when i am really tired of being soft and crave a change- I have been working out more and notice some toning and sculpting but not weight loss which is frustrating. Also at first I would think, I just worked out this am and I shouldn’t or can’t pole later but really I think If I could get to the point of not being sore I could train my body into handling pole in the evening too.( as long as I am also resting arms when needed).I haven’t been careful and working out can pull me away from pole. Maybe even just dancing on hard days.
GOOD NEWS! I bought my 6 inch pole o mat! I had worked some overtime to justify buying it. Also not to mention my husband can sleep on it when we go camping and it won’t de flate in the night! lol.I have been a little too afraid of falling and I look forward to "safely" bouncing to get the fear out. I’m gonna try and re start classes too. Missing them.

The only problem I had was a faint indent that you could barley see after i took it down- but it did help when I brought it back out! LOL

I as a student want a pole mat at the studio I am at- they don’t have them. Yes I can learn the exits before attempting the move but also I have not had a fall yet and that is because I am a little too afraid to try to much which is good if I’m not ready but on top of it what about limited progress because I am scared. I am planning to buy myself one and look forward to getting up there in stuff I’ve gotten into and backed out of from fear and either hanging in there or getting my first fall over with hopefully safely. It’s a confidence thing that seems good for those who are too careful and maybe dangerous false comfort for others?

I have tried the prancing and standing for SM before and I kinda got a good feel for where it should be in the shoulder with a little control but really today I messed with the floor just to experiment with this move. Still can’t do it but it felt safer.

I like this song without knowing the words- same about other songs. I don’t tell a lot of people about pole dance or that I have a pole at home. I pole for me -so its not really been about what others think and so I choose to keep it mostly for myself. I like the fitness aspect with no shoes and flexy but I also love the sexy shoe part and dancy style and those parts are easily interchangeable. People on this site seem to be mostly polers and how they like to dance, what they like to dance in , dancing to whatever they prefer. I don’t really care about the song strongly enough or others to flirt along the side of asking people to be one way about it and not an ounce the other. It all seems interwoven to some degree and I think its not an easy line to divide because it is different for each person. So I guess what I’m saying is I don’t mind it. Maybe that’s because I feel I don’t have to defend it to anyone regardless of what they think about it. * no hate* LOL

When I signed up didn’t imagine being involved much- just reading and viewing. I was very uncreative and probably tired so mine is obvious and even though I consider myself a huge fan of my daughter- I am also kicking myself in the behind! I think I was in a hurry to get to see some informational help LOL! Should of thought about it more.

well, actually you don’t have a pole yet huh? A class is a good way to start out, perhaps once you have some basics down you can see what you think then maybe buy a pole and do it the other way.

i can invert but am a fraidy cat- I don’t have a lot of ab strength and probably do kick into it but I’ve decided besides trying to get more core strength that I am going to work on the tuck invert so that I get the ab and control strength involved and then it is more safe , maybe this is a safer /slower way to work towards something. I am not near getting there but I am actually more proud of the progress of that then the regular invert.
