I agree with sensualscimitar. File the theft complaint, have the police help you get the pole, and don't give that girl a dime cuz she damaged her own damn floor, not you.

I've been using Arnicare which is arnica gel and it goes on really nicely, isn't greasy/oily, is all natural, and super effective and cheap as well!

my username/stage name came about at a party. my friend took me to a party at one of her friend's houses and they had given her a nickname and wanted to give me one too so I felt part of the group. the guy was like "well you are persian, so we should find something that rhymes with that!" so he sits there thinking of what rhymes with that and all of a sudden came up with the word excursion cuz one of his friends drives one of those. So I became PersianXcursian. I modified the spelling a bit

@Chemgoddess: I will try that! I actually hadn't heard of it til you mentioned it.

@Veena: that definitely is a possibility. I hadn't though about how much contact my legs had with the pole while I was switching to arms. Once I've got my foot hooked I switch straight into arms

I'm in the same boat. My doctor prescribed me glycopyrrolate so that I don't sweat as much and it helps a lot!

  • good choice! when in doubt, go with the one with both. I've heard people say later on that they regretted not paying a little more to go with the xpert.

it really is. with the price and the pain of having to send it back, you wanna make sure you've got the right one for you. My friend originally bought a 45mm without every having been on one and decided she didn't like it. she got lucky and found a buyer for it but if she hadn't she would have been stuck with it. I was fortunate enough to have a friend who bought a 45 and let me try it out before I bought it myself

you're welcome 😀 hope it works for ya!! magnetized levels are the best to use because they stick to the pole and you can just push it around instead of having to hold it up. Its better to have the pole a little too tight than a little too loose.

I've been on a 45 and a 50 and much prefer the 45. I want to try a 38 or 40 mm if I ever get the chance but I feel that would be really difficult to do leg grips on.

I have an xpert and a popcorn ceiling (I'm pretty sure thats the same as a cottage cheese ceiling) and I just make sure to tighten it well enough. You may need to tighten it more than you think you would and also make sure the pole is completely level or it will fall.

@Sensualscimitar: I hadn't heard of it either til I was diagnosed with it. It started after I went off acutane and my hands would randomly go numb and turn white. then it started with my feet. sometimes it's really hard to wear heels in the cold cuz it feels like my toes are gonna snap off. I take a blood thinner to improve my circulation which makes me bruise super easy

  • I have mixed connective tissue disease (it has some of the symptoms of Lupus and three other autoimmune diseases) and I also have Raynaud's syndrome which cuts of the circulation to my hands and feet when it gets too cold.

  • I considered slipperyness when I went to buy a pole and since the TG was only $30 more I figured I'd spend the extra $30 and save money on having to buy a ton of grip aid for a chrome pole.

Mine does it too. I need to make it stop cuz when it does it, it causes the x-joint to rotate (yes it is tightened equally and fully) to one side. on the bright side this forces me to do left handed stuff to shift it back into place.

I was thinking of wearing them for an in studio performance in august but just in general I'd like to spare my roommates from getting mentally scarred should they walk in while I'm practicing. If I can find some cute shorts to wear under them I'll do that

You could try to purchase one from the Australian store and pay extra for shipping. You would have to talk to them about it though.

I highly recommend an x-pole. I just bought a 45mm x-pole titanium gold finish and its been working out great. its super easy to set up and is very stable. x-pole also explains which size is best for what. as for finishes, its really a matter of preference. brass is the grippiest but also the most expensive. titanium gold is supposed to mimic the grippiness of brass. chrome is the standard finish you will see at most studios.
