Friday was pole day, Saturday bodycombat, Sunday kettlebell and bodycombat. Today I am planning to do legs with kettlebell and barbell. If I have energy I will get some cardio done too 💪

Greatl thread. So yesterday I did 30 minutes kickboxing style cardio (found on you tube) and then I did kettlebell workout, followed by little handspring try since my shoulders were warm and activated. I am pleased to report that I managed to get one full handspring, not pretty but still. Considering that I keep losing it now and then I am happy with it. Tonight is aerial hoop class ☺

No issues here I am only 5.1 Veena 😂. I am getting the 2m top bar I think. It will be handy for when using with rings x

Thank you amelia2000 that is reassuring that it can be done. I think I will go for it and get it, hoping for relatively dry summer. If it fits in the room it will be added bonus I suppose. I really got the aerial hoop bug 😂. As you say I can do pole more on rainy days and when nice I can go outside. I have got garden and the frame will fit just fine. Can I ask do you go for hoop classes or do you learn on your own. I am planning to continue with classes when I can get to it and subscribe to unique aerialist to learn things on my own x

Thank you for the replies. Veena putting up is not an option unfortunately. I suppose I can use it outside but the weather in the UK is not great so not sure how often I can use outside. I really need to make a decision if it’s worth it if I can’t use it at home. I was hoping to use it for gymnastic rings and hoop.

Thank you Veena! I have started on one of your programs when first started pole but now I just look for moves/combos I like to try, however I just can’t get the motivation to get to work. I think I will leave advanced stuff for my private sessions and start drilling pole fundamentals again so its flawless!

Yes I have been watching your lessons. Thank you for that. The slow motion video is great!

Thank you for all the input. I will have a play around with the head position and see what works better for me. The core engagement is so crucial for myself as very often I concentrate on my arms and shoulders that I “forget” my core!

I actually cannot wait for me next session to work on it again! I am a coward when it comes to work on it at home on my own 😂

Yes I heard about the bent top arm too. I have seen few pictures when it’s bent slightly. It’s hard to remember it all when you trying to focus on balance. Maybe Veena can shed some light on it please. Definitely there is a lot to work on ☺

Thank you. I wonder if I look up I will be able to balance it better? 🤔

Thank you! That is reassuring. I glad that I put my foot down and refused it after few weeks of trying and not feeling good in it. If that means my ayesha takes longer let be it to be honest. ☺

Off the pole I like to do reverse crunches (pike, straddle) really lifting those hips towards the ceiling. If you have pull up bar, you can do knee tucks etc. Also v sit, L sit, you can try sitting in a straddle and lift your legs up, or use yoga blocks to move them over them. Hth

Thank you! I think with me it’s the confidence and as you said skill. It’s strange how for example I can do extended butterfly in the studio, with teacher being present and filming so not actually standing right next to me but when on my own I cannot bring myself to do it (even if I have my hubby helping). I think you are right adding more pole is probably bring more benefit until I feel more safe on my own and then I can start hoop I suppose x

Thank you for you reply. I just realised that I should have put aerial hoop/lyra (not just hoop) as it’s confusing. I totally agree with hula hooping, not great at it but amazing warm up thumb 👍

Thank you ladies. I think it’s mental block. I have been doing your routine for couple of weeks alongside my usual weight lifting, but definitely not consistent. I think I will have to put more effort into making time for handstand specific training and definitely try to get my elbowstand freestanding. I am not particularly worried about pressing into handstand but just not being so scared of handstands as I know it will stop me from further progress in a long run. There is so many routines in your app that sometimes I get ahead of myself and want to do it all.
    😀

I have top and shorts from them and happy with it. I have been looking for another outfit from them but very hard to find it here in the UK. Apparently they moved their production to China so couple of online shops stopped stocking they as they quality decreased x

I also use stretch it app and like it, although I find it difficult to keep up with it. I have Alethea Austin pure splits dvd too and it’s really good and definitely I have noticed a difference in my split training.

Thank you so much for the advice. I shall pay more attention to how I position it x
