Hey this is perfect! I need tips on slowing down when doing combos 🙂 I know if you get away you wil slow down… I’m doing climb invert, climh over foot, twisted ballerina, and not sure what else….
What is the move that looks like a side climb, but they fish their arm across and grab their ankle to really get to spinning? Perhaps that would throw some spin back in after your shoulder mount?
Shoulder mount..to brass monkey.. Move arm up to belly and slowly slower…bring across arm to get into spin
Sorry to partially high jack this thread

So if I didn’t tell him he wouldn’t even notice me being gone. I did just order a pole for the house so that may cut down on my time away on his days off…

I am pretty fortunate because I get off at noon every day 🙂 I go home and nap, and then pole about 2 hours a day 5 days a week at my studio. I hate to miss it because I get grouchy -___- on my days off ill do an hour of stretching in front of the tv ^^

I think it’s pretty normal, when I originally learned the Cupid off the ground I actually got a big raised welt on the inside of my leg. Take a hot path or bag of microwaved rice and hold it in the crease of your leg.
Also, tricks like that normally hurt you less when you’re relaxed – try it next time when you’re sweaty and don’t have to clamp on so hard 🙂
Hope this helps!

But I go into the studio from 4-6 five or six days a week. Those rare nights he’s home early I’m just not interested in breaking my routine.
I guess I just look at it like his hobby, if he wants to play video games 2 hours a day, I can pole 🙂

What do I search for?

We begin by inverting, holding in a handstand, and then lowering down slowly…after this is slow and controlled we invert from higher up 🙂 happy poling.

At my studio we invert as early as the second class, depending on your individual strength and progression. I have only been poling since November 2012, but I am lucky enough to attend class 9+ hours a week and am preparing for my first competition. I can do jade, extended butterfly, shoulder mounts (from ground and in air), layback, Cupid, Russian splits, straddle climb, and am working on my iron x right now. It just depends how often you can make it in go practice, and that you understand your personal limits.
