In looking for a new club, my two criteria were "no touching" and "no nude lap dances." I don’t mind doing nude stage dances because if a guy tries to pull any shenanigans, a bouncer will move in and kick him out. Lap dances, however, are nowhere near as heavily monitored. You basically have to fend for yourself in a lap dance unless the club is prestigious enough to have a member of security watching at all times.

I honestly don’t mind doing lap dances – I even enjoy them with a fun, respectful guy, and it’s where we make most of our money – but I personally wouldn’t go full nude in a lap dance for two reasons:

1) The obvious; a few rare guys don’t see strippers as human, but rather as objects to grope and do whatever they want to them. The fingers and tongue will come out and they completely disregard the no touching policy (if any), and they will counter any protests of yours with, "I was about to leave anyway," "You’re no fun," or "Stop being a b*tch." These exist in any club, regardless of the level of nudity, but leaving a thong on during lap dances reduces the risk of successful genital violation.

And 2) Taking my thong off during lap dances limits what I am able to do. If I take my thong off, I can’t grind on the guy’s lap. It’s not very sanitary to rub my bare genitals on a guy’s pants; I don’t want to risk getting a bladder infection or something similar from getting dirt and lint in there. I also would not be comfortable humping a guy’s face without a thong on – it’s a fun trick for getting the guys aroused quickly, which means more tips. I like being able to give a raunchy lap dance, but I believe that leaving my thong on is critical to keeping it safe.

So, nude lap dances are a big dealbreaker according to my personal comfort level. But that’s just me, and it’s a decision you should make for yourself. If you’re not comfortable, it will show in your dancing and in the way you carry yourself. As far as I’m aware, a club can’t actually force you to take your thong off, much as they make you think they can. If I were you, I’d see if they have a problem with you doing lap dances with your thong on (many of the girls might do that already), if that’s what makes you most comfortable. I know a lot of full-nude clubs don’t have a problem with girls leaving their thongs on for dances. It may affect the money and it may not; depending on the club it may not matter, you may still make plenty of money.

Depending on where you live, bikini clubs can be tough to find. They exist in big cities, for the most part, but other than that they’re few and far between.

I work at a topless club – we are required to keep our thong on. It’s the only club I’ve ever worked at, so I don’t know what it’s like at other clubs, but I can tell you that we aren’t "required" to take off anything. If we want to keep our costume on, we keep our costume on. That’s our prerogative. There are situations where we choose to leave our clothes on, like if the club is empty or we aren’t getting tipped. If you choose to keep your clothes on in all situations, though, unfortunately you will quickly find that the money won’t be worth the effort. Even the good guys still came to see some degree of nudity.

The money: I’m the most advanced pole dancer at my club, and I can make a good $50-75 on stage dances on a good night. There are always the jerks who say, "Get down here and show me your p*ssy" and refuse to tip me when I don’t, but the majority of guys do appreciate the pole dancing and will tip me for it. So in my experience, you’ll get the money you deserve for the pole work. I work at a tiny redneck club where only one girl dances onstage at a time, though, so if you’re in a bigger city with more competition, the money from stage dances might be less.

It is true that the majority of an exotic dancer’s revenue is made from lap dances/couch dances or VIP if your club has one. Again, removal of clothing cannot be required, but I’m sorry to say a guy won’t choose to get a couch dance with a girl who won’t take her clothes off when he can have another girl who will. So it all just depends on how much money you want to make and what you’re comfortable with. You shouldn’t do anything that you aren’t comfortable with, because it will show in your body language, but keep in mind that while most people appreciate pole work, the industry is more about nude women than anything.

AHHHH I kind of really want this pole! Lol, it seems to be a version of the X-Pole that solves the problems of the regular X-Pole. First of all, it’s bottom-loading, which is helpful for my 4’11", non-ladder-owning self. Secondly, the ceiling plate looks to be pretty similar in size to the floor plate, which I think would help, given that the regular X-Pole is way too top-heavy. Seems like it’d be easier to get the ceiling plate totally flat on the ceiling, making it super-sturdy. It’s 45mm which is the size I already have and like, AND it’s $50 cheaper than the regular X-Pole! If I find out that it has a spinny mode I might just be in heaven.

Oh man, I wish I would have known about this last Saturday – I went to a stripper theme party and I brought my X-Pole. I was a huge hit! I put some pictures of it on my profile but they’re not great.
