Love it!! Thanks for sharing. I'm definitely gonna try this 🙂

I have really dry skin as well in the winter time and it's hard to stick to the pole. I'll moisturize at night after a shower or bath and in the morning, I'll be all flakey/white dry skin again 🙁 What I find that helps is exfoliating (I use Origins Ginger Body Scrub with a loofah) followed by applying moisturizing lotion with a drop of coconut oil or sweet almond oil. It helps the lotion slather on better and you stay moisturized longer. I got my coconut oil in Thailand but I'm sure you can find it online or at health food stores. The sweet almond oil I got at Whole Foods. Both of those oils you can also use on your hair as a hair mask and it works well. You can also try to use Ahava's Dead Sea bath salts and their lotion line to moisturize the skin. I love Ahava! Darn dry winter weather! I hope that helps.

Woot woot!! Hey I may be able to do an sm but haven't gotten the superman down yet I can barely hold it… the pain!! Are you gonna own the butterfly next? Hehehe 😛

Hey Lyme. You and I started around the same time. How I got my sm was by doing Veena's pole strength routine videos. I also stretched a lot using her vids too. I also just built strength by just being on the pole. One day during a pole jam with PA we both decided to give it a go and it just happened! We werent' planning on doing it at all but with the support of each other we got it. I hope this helps you and keep me updated 🙂

I did it before I got into pole. I'm actually thinking about getting back into it. I say you should go for it. Contact that studio close to you and talk to the owner and get some information about it. That will be a good start. It's really fun and the clothes are fun to get into as well 🙂

Had me crackin' up… at first I saw something poking out that I thought was a roach… then came a paw… and your "oh dear"… awwww… you took it well though. Sneaky lil' critters aren't they? So what did you end up doin'?

My real name is Linda. I first learned pole on a Lil' Mynx pole at a studio so that got the second half of my Veener name. The malicious part was from an old msn chat name a good friend used. I thought it sounded pretty awesome and funny added together.

MemberNovember 12, 2011 at 12:49 pm in reply to: Crash Mats (heel proof & in Canada??)Welcome to SV!! Oh good ol' Merrit! I'm from Kelowna! Haven't been to Merrit in a long time. I can understand why you can't find a good crash mat in that area. Your best bet is to purchase online or make one. My bf bought me one from Amazon and it's by yogadirect. I really like it and I haven't had any problems with it so far. A lot of people complain about poor quality and that it ripped at the seams but another Veener and I haven't had that problem. We are pretty happy with ours and we can go pretty hard on it during our pole jam sessions and it's still in good condition. If you have a craft store in your area, then you can go there and purchase foam (foam is expensive) and glue it together and put a sheet over top. I know it sounds ghetto but I was about to make my own and then my bf surprised me with a mat. I hope this helps and keep me updated.

I've been talking with a few girls about going. I see one of them has already messaged on you here. I would love to meet you. We are already saving up money to go. Email me so we can arrange something.

My hands naturally have no moisture whatsoever on them. They just don't sweat, get clamy or get moist at all. I struggle at the grocery store to get those plastic produce bags open so I can put veggies inside. I end up having to touch anything wet that the little water sprinklers soak to get the bags open! It's a totally different story when my hands touch the pole. I find myself wiping the pole down quite often during one session. I was at a studio playing around with hookedonpole and she had a bottle of Dry Hands with her. She told me that she has tried everything but this one worked really well for her. I know everyone is different. I tried some of it and I was able to last the whole hour messin' around on the pole with her without having to reapply. I definitely purchased my own bottle since and it keeps my hands dry haha. I haven't tried any other grip aids but I can tell you that I'm really liking Dry Hands and I think I'm going to stick to it. I find that the powder residue is easily wiped off the pole and I haven't had any complaints so far. Try it!

MemberOctober 4, 2011 at 5:36 pm in reply to: So happy to have discovered this world of POLE!Welcome! I suggest investing in Arnica gel for the bruising. For the sore muscles I take baths. Your skin will toughen up over time and don't push yourself too hard because you don't want to injure yourself. If I have bruises in a certain area, then I will take a break from doing anything on those areas so it can heal a bit before I get back at it again LOL. Happy poling!

Happy birthday!

Hi Bob! Welcome to SV and it gets rather addicting on here so I'm lookin' forward to seeing lots of posts from you 🙂
-
@CamilleM We are pretty similar!! Yes, I have dreams about poling too lol. Sometimes I get so excited about a move that I learned and the adrenaline is still rushing so I can't sleep LOL. I just replay everything that happened in my head and I guess that's what keeps me awake haha. It's just our passion for pole 🙂

My friend just got back to me and she's in the process of moving right now so she doesn't think it's a good idea to get the shoes at the moment or she'll just lose them in the whole moving process. I did try though and I hope you can find a good home for those lovely shoes!

Try to contact Poletential in Redwood City. They might be able to help you out. I don't know if they rent them out but I'm sure they can give you some information on where to get one last minute. They had an Air Show event a few months ago and had two X-Stages set up for everyone to perform and I know they have it at their studio. If Poletential doesn't have it, I would just look up all studios in the SF area and call them up and see what they can do. Have you tried contacting X-Pole customer service? Their customer service is the best! Good luck.

Hey ladies! I installed my mipole lights last night. I tinkered around it with it and already I can tell you Veeners that I love it and glad that I purchased it. It's gonna be a nice fun change if I am feeling adventurous. Whoever is still debating whether or not to get one, I'd say stop stalling and purchase it already!!

Mine should be coming today in the mail so I will keep you ladies posted!!
-
Happy Birthday Veena! I hope you have a wonderful celebration with your loved ones.

Here's my guess in no particular order:
1. Pregnant.
2. New pole studio in the making.
3. New pole.
4. Making room for aerial silk!
5. Hoops.
6. Installing a dance cage (most likely not but I love this one and had to throw it in haha).
7. X-Stage.
