I had silver chrome and wore it off, it's like white plastic underneath. They look ok in low light, but to fix them I just glittered them 😉

Happy Birthday!!
Hope to see you at the next MI showcase (fingers crossed AA comes back) ; )!!

@Traci-I made your smoothie, I was missing the ginger (which is on my shopping list as I'm sure it would be amazing!) and was pleasantly surprised by the texture of the sweet potato. It was so velvety….love it when good for you food is delicious!!

I second the Alethea Austin suggestion…her floorwork is AMAZING! I have all 4 of her vids and they are all fantastic!

I'm 5'11" and the only issue I have is I can't wear heels when poling at home because I'm afraid to hit the ceiling ; P Other than that, I have not had any difficulties. I'm sure there's something that challenges every body size/shape, but don't let the fear hold you back! If anything, our long legs make our moves look more dramatic!

MemberJuly 17, 2012 at 9:41 pm in reply to: Attempting to get my mom to pole (seeking help from mature polers/very new polers)After more than a year I talked my mom into going to a class with me. She had every excuse in the book…I'm too old/I don't even work out now/my shoulder this/my back that. I told her she could do as much or as little as she wanted, just don't do it if it's not comfortable. She ended up falling in love with pole! I think it also helped that I bought her a pair of Pleaser's, I think that sealed the deal ; )

I'm a big fan of Vixen http://vixenfitness.com/ and have been going for the last year and a half. The ladies there are great and very talented! There are other studios around that I've heard good things about, I just haven't had a chance to check them out. But you definately shouldn't have a problem finding something!

Cute one, maurer rose!

I have the Olay Pro-X and love it! It has made a big difference in my overall skin quality and texture. I have not tried the Clarisonic, but from what I've read they are comparable in results (but better $!).
I am also interested in Latisse, and have done a bit of research to determine if there was a comparable, less expensive option, but couldn't find any. Now that I hear that results can be maintained with fewer applications, it may be more affordable than I thought!
And I'm definitely interested in your epi results, I hate shaving! Thanks for sharing 🙂

My boyfriend sent me this link…so cool!

Thanks for sharing your experience VeeRose! It seemed pretty strange to me, I didn't know I could sweat from all those places! But I guess it's just a matter of dialing in on all of these variables…I'm not a fan of grip aids either, but I'm going to give them a shot (along with the hydration tips) and see if that helps.

Nope, wasn't that time, but a fan sounds heavenly! If I could have dried off a bit I might have been ok, my poor little towel that I carry just wasn't doing the trick!
Maybe it was just Charley…she's so hot! ; )

Thanks for the tips Charley! I was just SO unusually sweaty yesterday, it was crazy! I figured grip aids might help, I hadn't even thought about caffeine and hydration (I was sipping on a large iced coffee right up until class started, oh, and I had a few beers last night, so it's adding up now!).

I am counting down the days to my consult, July 18th! I was worried about time off the pole too, but after seriously hurting my knee I was off for months, and I figured out other things to do while I was healing. Pole is my passion and I plan to do it as long as I can, so when I look at it that way a few weeks/months isn't a big deal. Plus, it really makes you get creative and try things you may not have thought of, like working on flexibility or fluidity. Good luck with your surgery and keep us posted!
