When i was training in the hollywood/Los Angeles area, many girls asked questions about the poles. Alot of them were competitors or performers, and were more picky about what they use. If they were preparing for competitions, they would train at different places depending on what type of pole would be used for the comp. Most girls that come in for their first class probably wont know the difference, but if they trained somewhere else on a certain type of pole, they might ask what kind you have. I recommend just listing what you have on your website in the FAQ's or something.

MemberAugust 10, 2011 at 8:44 am in reply to: Pole Fitness Location and Pole Fitness Studio InsuranceIve been to numerous studios, and thru that experience, i definitely find that girls are concerned with what type of poles they will be using. They ask how tall, how thick, what finish, what brand, does it spin, etc.

MemberAugust 9, 2011 at 10:44 am in reply to: Pole Fitness Location and Pole Fitness Studio InsuranceYou dont technically have to be certified, but its always a good thing to have. I got certified thru X-Pert and thought it was fantastic! It was very very helpful!!! You can get the information on Crunch gyms website.
As far as poles go, i suggest something permanent. There can always be problems with any poles, but at least a one piece permanent will have less problems than a multi piece. I have 12 ft platinum stages poles at my studio that i really really like. They are bolted to the ceiling and the floor. Ive actually had a couple of students come in saying that they dont feel safe on a multi piece, and when they read that mine are bolted in, it sealed the deal for them to come try out my studio. My studio has alot of bigger girls that come in, so even i feel safer knowing that they are bolted in. At a studio there will be alot of wear and tear on the poles, so dealing with a multi piece might become a headache.

Platinum stages has a great one piece pole, which can be semi permanent or permanent. The weight limit is 250 though. They can make it custom size to fit your place.

Congrats! Just remember that everything takes time. There are some moves that i could NOT do months ago, and then when i tried it again recently, i got it on the first try. Sometimes your body just needs to build up strength in different areas.

I have permanent platinum stages poles and love them. For at home, they have a semi pressured pole. I would go with that, because they have the easiest spin mechanism.

I tried 2 types of birth control b4, and i had basically every single side effect possible. It also made me extremely depressed and moody. I literally cried EVERY SINGLE DAY! I would never go back on it. It doesnt agree with my body https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

Actually I was the one with the Xpole tank top picture. Dont confuse us. We are different people.
Unfortunately i was too busy trying to get poles in my studio that would be safe, that i didnt have time to remove a 1 year old picture.

@ Veena- I think your lessons are awesome. I got certified in pole dance a few months ago, and everything you teach is pretty much spot on what i learned during the process. The points of contact, etc etc, are all things i learned. Awesome work! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Ive been to alot of studios and never had a problem with platinum stages. I actually really love them alot because of the easy spin mechanism. You just pull out the pin, and bam, its on spin mode. U dont have to go down, and unscrew it or anything. I also prefer stainless steel over chrome. I never tried brass until last week when i got my platinum stages, but its definitely my favorite because i sweat alot. Im surprised more studios dont have them!!
The thing is though, even if xpole sells brass and stainless steel, is it going to be real? I dont think so, its coming from china. It will probably be some sort of plating. I trust platinum stages because they are made in the USA and have to go thru testing b4 they are sold. I didnt know until recently about the xpoles being from china, and containing lead. If toys with lead are recalled because they are dangerous, whats up with the poles? Obviously there is some sort of danger to them.
-
I dont think they are out yet…have u looked into platinum stages poles? they have all brass and stainless steel poles, and different types, permanent, semi permenent, removable one piece, removable multi piece, etc etc

I was really scared when the pole fell, and also when the other 2 flared out at the edges immediately when it was put up.
I dont want anyone to go thru that, or get hurt. That is my main concern when I post on forums. Pole dance fitness can be dangerous, and if poles are having trouble holding up, it can lead to serious injury.
I suggest people to get one piece poles. It seems like they are less of a headache. Platinum stages even has a one piece removable pole. I got the permanents for my studio though, just to be extra safe.

X-pole told me straight up not to read the directions….https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif
Im really not on here to debate left and right. I am sharing my experience with other people that are having the same or similar problems. It seems that many people have problems with the joints. If its that complicated or needs that much upkeep, xpole should consider redesigning it.
