As far as installation, it is farely simple. However, u have to make sure your measurements are exact, even down to 1/8 of an inch. Make it as exact as possible. Make sure your measurment is leveled. There is one bolt that goes thru the bottom plate, and you only need 2 for the top. I have concrete ceilings, so i had to use a different drill, but if you are just going into a wood beam, its really easy. Just drill the screws in.
The poles are permanent. You cant switch them out. Once it is in, its in. If u did need to switch them, u would have to remove the top plate.
Hope that helps!

MemberNovember 11, 2011 at 10:47 am in reply to: Purposely tried to tip my Star Stand Alone! It freaked me out too. I used to be sooo scared to go on stage poles, especially the SSA after reading so many posts. I really thought the thing was just gonna fall completely over.
As of right now, i havent seen any videos on youtube or heard of anyone completely taking down a stage pole, so in my opinion, they are good. I really like my SSA, and so do my students that have tried it out. I love the EZ connect too. I dont think there is any other portable pole that connects better than this. There is literally no way it can come apart.
My studio is in Pomona, CA if anyone ever wants to come try it out. I saw that Platinum Stages has one set up at their warehouse as well if people want to try it. They are in newport beach.

MemberNovember 11, 2011 at 10:29 am in reply to: Purposely tried to tip my Star Stand Alone!I knew of Timbers performance because i was there and saw what happened with the stage, so thats why i chose that video. I dont think anyone here will be trying out his moves. He is pretty much the only person that does them, and u could see during the performance, he puts on his own special grip aid to help. I think he is crazy for doing those moves on a stage. I wouldnt try them, and im sure 99% of the women on here wouldnt either.
Stages werent designed for that.
I dont think most people would run at the stage like i did either.
Like i mentioned b4, pole dancing is supposed to be about control and knowing how to use your own body weight…. i was purposely trying to be forceful and aggressive. That is not the goal of most women.
So, i guess if you are a very aggressive dancer, maybe choose permanent poles. You wont have to worry about anything then.

I dont really think stage poles are meant to be used for super aggressive moves, and we shouldnt expect any brand of stage pole to cater to that. There is no ceiling attached to the pole, so of course its going to move, and shift, etc etc. Pole dancing is about control, and learning how to use your body weight.
Unless there is a stage that weighs a gazillion pounds, you probably shouldnt do the craziest of moves. Thats what permanent poles are for. Stage poles arent intended for that.

MemberNovember 11, 2011 at 9:37 am in reply to: Purposely tried to tip my Star Stand Alone!Yes they all tip, the SSA and XSL. That was the point i was trying to make with the Timber video. With alot of force, the stages will tip.
-
Hey Charley,
Thanks for being unbiased and mentioning that the XSL can tip too. Here is a perfect example of it tipping, and shifting across the floor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cl_sb-ZTUrc Look around 2:30 mark.
I made a video last night, purposely trying to make my SSA fall. Take a look. The stage does come up, but it didnt shift across the floor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWpZqTJr0HM
I dont really know anything about the older versions, but i do know that the new version i have is really stable. Im really happy i did this. Ive read so many posts with people saying it tips over and that its unsafe etc, but now i know for a fact that this thing is super stable, and wont just tip completely over. Plus, most women arent going to be super aggressive on it like i was.

At my studio i have all 2inch(50mm) poles, so now when i go to other studios with the skinnier poles, everything is super easy, so i really think studios should always have 2inch poles.
The reason they cant disappear is that they are safer for higher ceiling heights. Over 10 feet, there will be too much flex with the skinnier one. Im not sure how australia does it with the 38mm…does anyone know???
-
I can only do this with my thigh high boots on. It doesnt hurt nearly as much.
-
I really like my SSA. I made this video showing the stability of the pole. The ez connect part makes it imopssible to come apart. The pie pieces can tip a lil depending on how aggressive u are.
-
I made a video showing some spins on static mode, so everyone can see how stable it is. The ez connect makes the pole impossible to come apart. The pie pieces of the stage can tip a lil depending how aggressive you are, but there is no way that the whole thing will tip over. It weighs about 120lbs.

Have u ever had your hormones checked? I didnt know until recently how much they affect EVERYTHING!
-
Im not a doctor. I only know what they have told me. I prefer to go to doctors that practice natural medicine. I dont go to regular MDs that just try to push chemicals on me. I like to go a more natural route. I have been going to a PMS clinic that has been around since the 80's. They deal with women that have PMS, PMDD, Post Partum, etc. They specialize in these things.
What i learned from them is that too much estrogen makes u depressed and feel crazy.
My advice is to not mess with your hormones. If there is a BC that doesnt have hormones, like some of u have mentioned, i think that would be the best bet. There are plenty of sites online and forums where u can do more research. Definitely do your homework b4 making a big decision.
If any of u want to look at the site to the clinic i go to, its www.pmstreatmentclinic.com/

I am running out of the house right now, but will come back and comment more on this later.
I took birth control a long time ago, and it screwed me up. It raised my estrogen level soooo much. I am now dealing with the side effects. My estrogen is 3 times the normal level. The doctors checked my blood twice cuz they said they have never seen it that high. I barely have any progesterone (aka the happy hormone.) I have been taking progesterone for almost a year, but according to the blood work, my body isnt absorbing. Not sure what else i can do, but its driving me crazy. I recently spent $1500 for the specialist, and the stuff isnt working.
If i could change back time, i would NEVER EVER EVER take birth control. It can screw u up for life.

OOOOOOoooooo https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif I want a glow pole. That is so f'n cool!
-
That is totally normal for it to be tarnished and ugly looking. Brasso works amazing. Please check out the video i made showing my dirty pole, and how it looks after cleaning it with brasso. The video is on my profile or youtube.
-
I made a video showing what a real brass pole looks like, and how to clean it. You can view it on my profile or at this youtube link. Hope it helps!

Honestly, if one of my teachers left and was being replaced by someone who was unqualified, i would be pissed that they didnt tell me. People spend alot of $$ on classes, and pole dancing can be really dangerous. I would be really upset that they didnt let me know.
Put yourself in the situation….how would u feel? Would u want to be warned? I would.

MemberNovember 1, 2011 at 4:51 pm in reply to: Training for First Competition: The SecretsIve only competed once, this past saturday. It was on a Platinum stages 1.75 inch SSA. I have to say it was awesome. The grip was phenomenal. If you are going to compete, get used to practicing on different types of poles (sometimes problems occur and poles need to be swapped for different types last second.) That happened recently at California Pole Dance. The girls were expecting permanent poles, and had to use stage poles last minute. I would say to practice on different size poles, different finishes, stage poles, at different studios cuz sometimes the temperature is different, and u might not stick as well, etc. Practice with different grip aids, etc.

Tonight was my first time competiting, and it was on a platinum stages SSA stainless steel 1.75 inch. It had amazing grip straight out of the box. I didnt even have to use grip aids, which is a first for me. I really liked it. Gonna get one for my studio.

Sensual- I had the same issues with NEW x-poles that i had bought for my studio…within one or 2 spins, the pole was bowing out, and it bubbled out where the pieces connect. This was in June. It was brought to X-poles attention. They saw what happened with the poles IN PERSON. Read my blog about it. I dont want to post too much about it on the forum. They know about the problems with the poles, and i havent seen any changes due to customer complaints.
As far as platinum stages goes, i really love their poles, and i feel like the xpoles becoming damaged immediately upon installation was a blessing in disguise. I havent had issues with the poles at all. I have 4 stainless steel, and 2 brass permanents. I also have the new EZ Connect star stand alone, and its SOOOOOO good. The ez connect is really genius. I feel really safe on it, and i dont have to worry about joints slipping, etc. There is literally NO way the 2 pieces can come apart. You can see my video about it on youtube by searching "platinum stages ez connect."

I think i need to get one of these to match my pink studio. Especially since its helping to raise money for a good cause. Soooo excited https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
