maybe you could have the opportunity to redecorate the garage and make it into a fabulour exercise space? Get a heater/ac unit/dehumidfyer (or whatever the need is) to control your environment, do a clean sweap of it to get rid of the creepy crawlies and decorate it to make it zen?

regardless of what you do I hope you find a way to make things work for you. 🙂 good luck

@ Ewa Tran. I'm in northern B.C. in a smaller city called Prince George.

Also I love buying spring/summer thinner leg warmers and wearing them with heels 🙂

I've had my belly button pierced twice. And sadly both times my body rejected it. The first time i blame on the piercer. they pierced it off centre and at a bad angle (my mistake at 16 for going to a place that does not have proffessionally trianed piercers) I had it for about a year before I took it out as it had pushed itself out to just a think layer of skin.

the second time I went to a professionally recognized piercer and sadly even though it was done properly my body rejected it again. I've now attributed it to a slighty metal allergy. I've had other body piercings and as long as i use higher quality metals(gold) I am ok.

all of this talk makes me want to go get it done again though…..maybe third times the charm??? I'm not worried about scar tissue as my belly button is now also scarred from surgery from gallstones.

so I have always heard about the benefits to not washing your hair everyday…but i'v always wondered…how do you start the process? Will I look like a greaseball for the first while? And do you still get your hair wet every day in the shower? Or do I go get a shower cap? lol

please help a confused girl out. 🙂

I agree with the comment poleclimber made. Its really important to focus on your own growth and achievments and not focus on what you will do next or what others are doing. I have had a very slow journey in developing my skills and muscles and I should try to remeber to focus on what I can do not on what I can't. Welcome to the site! 🙂

I use my digital camera on its video setting as the webcam that came with my laptop is too slow to track the quick movements from pole dancing. I also use Windows movie maker to edit, I find it easy to use and i have been please with the results. 🙂

I got my vertical hood done about three years ago, it was barely paintful at all. It healed really quick too. My suggestion is to call up a trusted professional piercer in your city and book a consultation so you can hear the process from them. 🙂

I think everyone is different would respond differently to comments like that and that is where a teacher needs to get to know their students to learn how each student learns.

All i can think is that if my instructor made a comment like that to me in to my body I would probably feel awful and stop going to that studio. I want someone to give me advice on how to get better using the body i have. I don't want them to just observe that I can't do something because of the body I have.

But that is me….everyone responds differently. A suggestion might be to ask a student why they think they are having trouble with a move/spin and then proceed from there?

I live in Northern Canada so I actually weather them for warmth reasons in winter. They keep the snow from getting into my shoes and freezing my ankles. 🙂 I like to wear them when i dance though. They keep me warm when i first start warming up and they are just fun and awesome to wear. 🙂

Hey I am a beginner who has been working at it for about 6 months. I also run into the issue of comparing my self with others and becoming frustrated with my own progress. I have to continually remind myself that i need to only compare myself against myself. Due to medication I build muscle about 25% slower then the average person and pole uses muscles I did not previously use before.

I have made progress and I continually use videos to track my own progress so I can show myself just how far I have come.

You will get better, it does take time. And as hard as it is remind yourself to focus on the progress you make rather then the progress other people are making.

we all progress at different rates and something my teacher says is that we all have different stengths and weaknesses. Some have awesome upper body strength. Others have great core or lower body strength. Some have great elegance and graceful form while dancing. We all bring something different to it.

Bottom line. You will get better. Just keep building on your strength and flexibilty and the moves will come along after.

    🙂

I have a 50mm and I really enjoy it. While I'm not tall and I know that my hand grips would be easier, i found it to be way easier for learning leg grips. Eventually I think I will add a 45mm to my pole collection but I think that when you are passionate about pole you will find a way to learn on any pole!

it took me years to finally be able to do the splits, and i can only do them on my right side. I worked hard in gymnastics and dance. Sometimes being pushed but it wasn't untill i overcame my own mental fear that it would hurt was i able to move that last two inches to the floor. It takes time, but if you ease into it and listen to your body it shouldn't hurt anymore then any other stretch.

I have definetly been trying to work on my left side more. I'm lucky to have a studio that makes us practice on both sides but it frustrating trying to learn new tricks that i can do easily on my right and then have it be almost impossible to learn on my left. I need more arm mucles in my lefty!
