Thanks for recommendations Webmaster. Have you guys ever considered making a SudioVeena Roku channel? That would be pretty awesome!

I guess I should check in since it's been a couple weeks. I have lost 8 lbs so I think I am on track to meet my weight loss goals. As far as my weekly workout & pole goals I haven't been meeting those very well. So I guess I will just be happy to have a little bit of positive progress.
@Porshka – I'm sorry to hear about your job. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gifHopefully an even better one comes along for you!

Well it has been almost 2 weeks since I set my goals and unfortunately it has been a complete failure so far. I haven't really stuck to anything https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif So I am starting fresh today and am more motivated this time. How is everyone else doing with their goals?

Absolutely loved it Lulu! You are truly an inspiration.https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

@Porshka – Thank you for starting this thread! Almost everything you said is the same as my current situation. I have been in such a lazy rut and my pole progress has gone no where for months now.
So I would love to join in even though I'm a little late to the party!
My 100 day goals are:
#1 – Be confident enough to dance for my husband.
#2 – Be confident enough to post my first video.
#3 – Get my invert.
#4 – Have a strong reverse grab spin.
#5 – Be comfortable with freestyle dance. (I love to dance & do great with a routine, but freestyle seems almost impossible for me!)
My weekly goals to accomplish the 100 day goals are:
#1 – Loose 20 lbs
#2 – Pole 3 times a week.
#3 – Stretch 3 times a week.
#4 – Do 3 songs of freestyle dance a week.
#5 – Only eat fast food once a week. (instead of my current 5 times a week!!)
#6 – Work out upper body 5 times a week.
That ought to do it! Good luck everyone!

I am also in the market for a small budget friendly camcorder so I was happy to see this thread. While looking at the Flip UltraHD that was recomended I came accross a Sony Bloggie Duo. What appeals to me about it is that it has a screen on both sides. So when you are trying to set up the camera to record yourself poling you will be able to easily see what is in the shot from the front screen. I think this it the one I will get. http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Bloggie-Duo-Camera-White/dp/B004H8FNCG/ref=sr_1_2?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1335536591&sr=1-2

I have had professional laser hair removal done on my face. It is definitely painful but not unbearable. It worked very well but I have PCOS which is what caused the problem in the first place and because of the fluctuation of my hormones it will always be activating new hair folicles. I also tried getting professional electrolysis done on my face. I did about 4 treatments but ultimately decided it was time to try an at home solution. So for the last 18 months or so I have been using the Tria at home laser on my face. It is also slightly painful but really not too bad at all. It also works quite well as far as permanently removing the hair. I also just starting using the Silk'n Sensepil device on my legs and underarms. It is an IPL (intense pulse light) device. I have only done one treatment with it so far though so I can't comment on any long term results. I beleive both of these devices are FDA approved for permanent hair removal. If anyone has any specific questions about my experience with these you are welcome to message me. There are also several other IPL devices on the market now: Viss, Me my Elos, Rio, Remington. I don't have any personal experience with any of those but I just thought I would mention them in case you want to research all of your options. Lastly there is a blogger on About.com who has done an extensive long term review of both the Tria and the Silk'n Sensepil. Here is a link to her most recent post of her long term results on the Tria http://hairremoval.about.com/od/lase1/a/tria-hair.htm and the Silk'n http://hairremoval.about.com/od/lase1/gr/Silk-N-Sensepil.htm . Hope this helps…

Just wanted to post an update on my Mega-Tek usage. It has been a month and my hair has grown about an inch. So it definitely seems to be growing much faster and is stronger. I have also stopped using shampoo and I am conditioner washing my hair instead. I was really worried this would make my hair greasy but suprisingly that is not the case. It is actually much less greasy a couple days after washing it than it was when I used shampoo!

I am trying to grow my hair out and get it nice and healthy too. I recently did a bunch of online research on the Ovation Cell Therapy stuff and Mega-Tek. They are both products that are supposed to increase thickness, strength and rate of growth. I decided to go with the Mega-Tek for various reasons and am in my second week of using it. It hasn't been long enough to note any significant growth but the amount of hair that falls out or breaks off during styling and washing (which for me has been A LOT since I had my babies) has definitely decreased. Also it has given my hair a lot more volume. I will give an update when I get around the one month mark of use and let you all know how much growth I had. Also if any of you are interested in looking into these products yourself here is a link to one of the main forums that I did my research in http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=250031 and also a link to the Mega-Tek that I bought which was the best price I could find on it http://www.amazon.com/Mega-Tek-Rebuilder-Hoof-Mane-Tail/dp/B001CCZMMQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1331424182&sr=8-1

I’ve been trying to find rope lights that are blacklight. Does anyone know of somewhere that sells them?
-
I would like something like this but with blacklights instead of colored. Does anyone know of such a thing? I have just a regular blacklight tube fixture in front of my mirror but it doesn't put off enough light for the room size. So one right above my pole would be great!

Here is MissDirdyBirdy’s video break down of it

He did great! I’m so happy a pole dancer made it into the next round! I thought for sure the judges wouldn’t be able to see past the shoes. Big kudos to him for being himself and wearing them!

I don't think anyone on here is going to be offended by skimpy shorts. If you feel comfortable posting it then you should!

Thanks for letting us know! I love when pole dancers get on the dance/talent competition shows!

Even though logically I realize that he really won’t care as long as there is a lot of skin and a lot of booty shaking I still can’t get up the nerve! I think the trick for me will be to have a set routine and perfect it. Freestyle would be entirely too scary!

Awesome! Thanks for sharing! I always love to see pole getting some positive main stream attention instead of the shows that sneak the "stripper" word in all over the segment for sensation! Does anyone know if Natasha's winning performance at USPDF is on YouTube? I have searched but can't find it.

So when I realized the screws were way to spaced out to fit on a regular stud I emailed X-Pole and they told me to just install it with the middle screw on each side screwed into the stud. So that is how mine is and I haven’t had any problems yet.

The studio I go to actually has decent size pole rooms, one of them has 8 poles and the other has 6, but yet they still feel the need to overbook by at least 4 people in every class not just beginner. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

Maybe just get one of those clear office chair mats and put it under the pole?

MemberMay 12, 2011 at 1:48 pm in reply to: Pole Dancing lessons.. Do I carry on with them..I feel the same way…. I am still in the beginner class because I have yet to master an invert but they just teach the same moves every time I go to class so I don't feel like I am making any progress. The only classes I enjoy are the Blacklight ones where we learn a routine. Unfortunately though I am stuck in a one year contract with my studio and I don't feel like I should buy a subscription to Veena's lessons until I'm not paying for the others. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif I really wish there was an option on here to just purchase a kind of punch pass for 20 different lessons or something instead of a time limit subscription. I don't know if that's even something that is a possibility to set up though, just wishful thinking.
