I have those Pleasers with the glitter strap and I love them. They do not help you stick to the pole, but they don’t harm either. I use the top of my foot to grip the pole instead, not the part where the strap is. I haven’t noticed any problems with the glitter coming off, but I do not wear them too often. My absolute favorite shoes to wear are the Pleasers Delight 609 with chrome heels and black patent strap. Those definitely stick to the pole and they are super comfy.

Is the body more upright or parallel to the floor? If upright, its called a figurehead. If it is parallel to the floor with arched back and arms holding pole above, I believe it’s called the dove.

When I do the no handed cradle, I prop my bottom arm so that it is bent about 90 degrees, and just below the elbow area is pushing into the pole, then grab hold of my bottom leg. Once that arm is in place, I can let go with the top arm.
The woman that injured herself was Summer, the owner Diva Den in Portland, Oregon. I met her when I was visiting friends in Portland, and she was kind enough to let me play at her studio after hours. I don’t know the specifics of the injury, but she tore some tissues and muscles and had to have corrective surgery.

Maybe you could make some sort of temporary platform to put your pole on or under? Like get a block of wood or something and wedge it be tween the pole and ceiling or make a little stage of sorts? I’m sure there is some kind of way you can rig temporarily until your extension comes.

Great performance! I saw a cpl variations on moves that I’d like to try next time I get on the silks. Love your splits!

This looks like an easy way to get into the allegra. Check it out, starts at 3:08 https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Going to try it out tonight. Need this move! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

That’s usually how i get into it on (but static mode), but can’t hold long because my hand grip slips. Gonna try it from the apprentice and see how it goes.

I was having the same reservations about buying a pole but finally just decided to do it anyway. I have owned two different "old school" Xpoles and they were wonderful. Whenever I had a problem, I contacted Xpole and they were always super helpful. The biggest problemI had with them was that the middle two poles would unwind from ea other when I did left handed spins (I am left handed, so that was more often than not) and it would disrupt my dancing and in a few case, mess up my moves, because I had to stop and tighten it or depending on the move, it would make me not secure in my hold. The reason I am getting this pole is because it alleviates that problem completely. I do have a PS one piece, but I would still like a more portable pole that I can travel with, and quite honestly, Xpole customer service is much more reliable than PS and their poles have less issues overall. I’m hoping I won’t have any problems with this pole, but even if i do, I am sure Xpole will be excellent in helping me to fix it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I just wanted to add, that pole may be very graceful to look at, but it is also very painful! I have introduced many people that were interested in pole dancing at my house and several of them ended up disliking it because they realized A. It is harder than it looks! and B. It hurts! So I would highly recommend that you at least take a taster session, before investing all that money in a pole. And don’t worry… everyone is pretty nervous/shy their first time. Good instructors are prepared for that, and are able to make you feel comfortable. Since you are in an area with lots of options, maybe you could call around and get a feel for what ea. studio is like? I do know of one instructor in the SD area. She works at Pole Sinsations, and is very nice. If you ‘re interested, i can help you get in touch with her.

The ballerina when done by someone with flexibility (not me!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif ), scorpio, gemini, ITH, Crescent moon pose…

I have the opposite problem with my knees, they hypo-extend. Even when I "lock out" my knees they are still slightly bent. It makes a lot of my moves not look so pretty. I still have issues with my knees though. Mostly when I do the pigeon pose/stretch, i get sharp shooting pains in my straightened knee. I am sorry to hear about your bruised rib. Thank goodness it wasn’t fractured though. Make sure to follow the docs orders and rest it as long as you need to. I made the mistake of getting on my pole too early after a neck/shoulder injury and it resulted in more pain and even more time having to stay off the pole. Hope you feel better soon!

Yep, I got this at first too. In fact, I had started taking piano lessons around the same time I started poling and ended up giving it up because my fingers were too sore to do both, lol. As your hand grip gets stronger, the pain will def lessen. I would recommend stretching the fingers, wrists and forearms with every pole workout.

I can get into this move easy enough, the problem is holding it! Once I let go with that leg, I can only hold for a few secs before my hand grip starts to slip. Someone had mentioned to me that it is incredibly painful because the thigh "rolls" inward against the pole, but I haven’t felt that happen yet, so maybe I am not arching enough. Does it become more secure the further you arch your back?

MemberJuly 21, 2010 at 11:48 pm in reply to: Free Shipping in Xperts in the US for one day only!!!Hey Sissy,
I had left a comment on your ad on FB yesterday, but hadn’t received a response yet… I tried to purchase a pole yesterday, but when I went to check out, it’s still charging $20 shipping. I tried it again a few minutes ago, and it’s still charging for shipping, so I canceled my order. Is there a code or something that I am supposed to use? -
I suggest sending the original poster a private message apologizing for the others reactions and sending her our way (to studioveena). Let her know there’s a place where people are proud of her for taking a first step toward improving her life and doing something amazing for herself.
I 2nd that!

I agree with Amyxshi, don’t ever depend on a man to do something that you can do for yourself. I personally don’t believe in fate, I believe you make you own future. So don’t let the past disappointments affect your decision to move. It sounds to me like this move would be very good for you and it is something you really want. If I were you, I would start moving as much of your stuff over as you can by yourself and then either hire someone, or see if you can find a couple friends that wouldn’t mind helping you out. Last time I moved back when I lived alone, I rallied the help of several friends and as payment I bought a few cheap pizzas and soda and put in a couple movies on the DVD player to entertain them afterward. it was a good time for all of us and they knew how much I appreciated their help.

I like to use Tite Grip for long acting anti-perspiration and then Dry Hands for short term stick. Tite Grip is great because it helps keep your hands dry, but not too sticky. If I am really having problems gripping the pole or am trying a new move, I’ll put a dab of Dry Hands on my hands, my inner thighs and behind my knees for that xtra holding power. It’s super effective but doesn’t last as long as the Tite Grip.
