oh & i have carpet in the pole space. i prefer to dance on carpet in my heels because its softer on me when i do floor work & you can still silde in heels. when i worked at a studio they had hardwoods & i liked it too but i got bruises on my back… i may change my mind someday but right now i like carpet.

my pole room at my last house was in the formal living room which was the room next to the front door, lol. no doors to close it off & it did raise a lot of questions when people came over that didn't know about my poling. it was the biggest un-used space in that house.
my pole is currently in my master bedroom at this new house & i hate it, not enough room to dance. i have a spare bedroom that will be my pole room whenever i can decide on a pole to get since it's a 10ft ceiling in that room i have to get a new one https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
personally i'm all for using the biggest room with the tallest ceiling & screw it looks of the house if it happens to be in a front room, pole space is most improtant to me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

i have looked online at the construction of a tray ceiling in the USA & it seems to vary from builder to builder, they all have beems 1 foot apart like a normal ceiling but some look like they are connected from the top down & others all the way across with supports above. if mine are connected from the top down i seems like a tension mounted could eventually push the beam out of place & cause the pole to have wiggle room.
i would love to hear from anyone who has installed a pole in a tray ceiling or anyone who knows a builder in the US & would know about this sort of thing.
if tension mount is not a good idea does anyone know where you can buy a 10 foot soild piece pole that would be screwed into the floor & ceiling?
thanks so much! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

How exciting! I am trying to decide between a 40 or another 45 too 🙂 getting a new pole soon!
I’m sure you will be even more amazing with a 40! I have a a 50 & a 45, I love my 45 but I need a taller pole so I have to pick again :-/ I love the 45 compaired to the 50 & I wouldn’t go back up a size ever! Things are easier to me on a 45 so I feel like it should be even easier on a 40… Right? Lol -
i just noticed that pole la teaz actually has brass poles (its amazing what you find out when you actually read, lol)
@ – i loved your blog that you linked! that was amazing info! & i was excited to read that you can have any pole powder coated if you wanted to so i thought that was awesome to know, it really takes the pressure off.
i loved the brass at pole la teaz, i felt that they had amazing grip for me & i had visited that studio in the hot & humid summer months. of course brass is more expensive :-/
i read about having to clean it with the brassO, does anyone know how often you need to do this, what happens if you forget & do you have to keep away from the pole for a long amount of time after cleaning it with the brassO?
i have one more question since i'm leaning towards brass… i will have a 10 foot pole & i am really leaning towards a 40mm Xpert (thats why i want brass because they don't make a 40 in a TG) has anyone used one for serious tricks & being "rough" & do you feel they are very strudy or do you feel like you are on a straw wobbling around? lol.
thanks again 🙂

I have sweaty hands when I pole so I have a feeling brass wouldn’t be good for me :-/

Yes! It’s wonderful! 🙂

I have had a stainless pole, it was my first one, it was a 50mm 9ft & It was slippery but I loved it! Now I have a 8 ft 45mm painted/powder coated pole, I love the grip. & I have used a Titanium gold pole at vertical joes in atl & at pole la teaze atl. However I’ve never touched a brass one 🙂 what has the best grip between the TG & the brass? I need a 10ft pole now & I love the grip I have with my current painted/powder coated 8ft pole but its too damn short! I loved the grip on the TG’s i have played on but i am interested in the brass too! My hubby said he’d buy me a 10 foot pole since I have a room for it & I want to make sure I get the best grip possible. I know I prefer a 45 to a 50 & I bet I’d like a 40 even better but idk how sturdy it would be at 10ft. Anyway, if somebody has used both brass & TG & can tell me about the grip that would be great 🙂
Thanks! -
