… I didn’t mean to send that yet… Anyway. I will look at lil mynx site. I have a powder coated pole from hardcore poles & I do like the grip, I wonder how the grip compares to a lil mynx. Thanks for reminding me they have a 10foot 45, I had kind of over looked them because I was so set on a x pole

I could do that but I really want 4 screws to mount in the ceiling so it stays up forever & someday I’m getting a fly gym (or some kind of yoga hammock) so I think you have to use a pole that screws in the floor & ceiling for that… Idk though. & honestly I really really wanted a brass or a TG because I just don’t like the look of a colored pole, lmao. I’m being picky. I will look at lil mynx s

i was really leaning towards the brass BUT it's a lot more $ so i was just gonna get a TG, BUT now… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_puke_r.gif i went up in the attic & i can tell i need to screw the pole in the ceiling, because i have a tray ceiling in that room & those beams are def mounted from the top down https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif now i will have to spend an extra $80 if i get a x-pert so now i have to wait until next year. that was a total buzz kill this morning. my hubby said i could get one when he thought it was gonna be $330 (he looked xpole.com), didn't know i would need the extention that is $30 OR that i wanted a TG, that is actually $360 lol. & now i need that block mount part too that is $80 so… looks like i'm gonna have to keep poling on my shorty 8ft non-spinny for another year. better than no pole at all but i am itching to work on drops & chaining tricks together, like from the top down. it's super hard to pole in shoes on a 8ft since i'm 6.1 with them https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif & the walls in the are very close in my current pole space so i am limited… blah! i just want more pole space https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif & a pole i can actually climb. i want to do superman/superpain drops so bad i can't stand it, lol.
&& the one i REALLY want (45mm brass) would be $620 with everything !!!! not gonna happen. my 30th birthday is april 5th so i really wanted something extra special for my "big day" lol. also our first wedding anniversary is 3 days after my b-day so i was thinking that pole would be a nice birthday/anniversary gift… hopefully i can get it next year… or maybe i can find a job & buy it for myself https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif i didn't know there were different brands of yoga hammocks, i have only seen the fly gym… i want a yoga hammock too but i have to get a new pole 1st because i can't stand only having a 8ft pole any longer, i've been using it since december 2011… i'm itching for a 10ft that spins again https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif after that i need a yoga hammock fosho!

Omg yes! I was like you when I started! I really like alethea Austin’s “stretching for pole” DVD & “pure split” DVD. I believe been a has stretching lessons on here too but I haven’t had the $ to check those out yet. I’m sure they are great too!!

oh & i have carpet in the pole space. i prefer to dance on carpet in my heels because its softer on me when i do floor work & you can still silde in heels. when i worked at a studio they had hardwoods & i liked it too but i got bruises on my back… i may change my mind someday but right now i like carpet.

my pole room at my last house was in the formal living room which was the room next to the front door, lol. no doors to close it off & it did raise a lot of questions when people came over that didn't know about my poling. it was the biggest un-used space in that house.
my pole is currently in my master bedroom at this new house & i hate it, not enough room to dance. i have a spare bedroom that will be my pole room whenever i can decide on a pole to get since it's a 10ft ceiling in that room i have to get a new one https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
personally i'm all for using the biggest room with the tallest ceiling & screw it looks of the house if it happens to be in a front room, pole space is most improtant to me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

i have looked online at the construction of a tray ceiling in the USA & it seems to vary from builder to builder, they all have beems 1 foot apart like a normal ceiling but some look like they are connected from the top down & others all the way across with supports above. if mine are connected from the top down i seems like a tension mounted could eventually push the beam out of place & cause the pole to have wiggle room.
i would love to hear from anyone who has installed a pole in a tray ceiling or anyone who knows a builder in the US & would know about this sort of thing.
if tension mount is not a good idea does anyone know where you can buy a 10 foot soild piece pole that would be screwed into the floor & ceiling?
thanks so much! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

How exciting! I am trying to decide between a 40 or another 45 too 🙂 getting a new pole soon!
I’m sure you will be even more amazing with a 40! I have a a 50 & a 45, I love my 45 but I need a taller pole so I have to pick again :-/ I love the 45 compaired to the 50 & I wouldn’t go back up a size ever! Things are easier to me on a 45 so I feel like it should be even easier on a 40… Right? Lol -
i just noticed that pole la teaz actually has brass poles (its amazing what you find out when you actually read, lol)
@ – i loved your blog that you linked! that was amazing info! & i was excited to read that you can have any pole powder coated if you wanted to so i thought that was awesome to know, it really takes the pressure off.
i loved the brass at pole la teaz, i felt that they had amazing grip for me & i had visited that studio in the hot & humid summer months. of course brass is more expensive :-/
i read about having to clean it with the brassO, does anyone know how often you need to do this, what happens if you forget & do you have to keep away from the pole for a long amount of time after cleaning it with the brassO?
i have one more question since i'm leaning towards brass… i will have a 10 foot pole & i am really leaning towards a 40mm Xpert (thats why i want brass because they don't make a 40 in a TG) has anyone used one for serious tricks & being "rough" & do you feel they are very strudy or do you feel like you are on a straw wobbling around? lol.
thanks again 🙂

I have sweaty hands when I pole so I have a feeling brass wouldn’t be good for me :-/

Yes! It’s wonderful! 🙂

Veena, what kind of pole are you using in that combo video? & how tall is it?
That is an Awesome combo!!

I have had a stainless pole, it was my first one, it was a 50mm 9ft & It was slippery but I loved it! Now I have a 8 ft 45mm painted/powder coated pole, I love the grip. & I have used a Titanium gold pole at vertical joes in atl & at pole la teaze atl. However I’ve never touched a brass one 🙂 what has the best grip between the TG & the brass? I need a 10ft pole now & I love the grip I have with my current painted/powder coated 8ft pole but its too damn short! I loved the grip on the TG’s i have played on but i am interested in the brass too! My hubby said he’d buy me a 10 foot pole since I have a room for it & I want to make sure I get the best grip possible. I know I prefer a 45 to a 50 & I bet I’d like a 40 even better but idk how sturdy it would be at 10ft. Anyway, if somebody has used both brass & TG & can tell me about the grip that would be great 🙂
Thanks! -

yup! if you don't twist the cup enough for it to "pop" open it will leak BAD! lol! i found that out the hard way when i first statred using one… when in question keep twisting it!

yup! i agree! i'd never go back to tampons! i've been using a cup for 4+ years & it's so much better & you don't get that "OMG i'm gonna die" feeling from them like you do (well , i did) from tampons 🙂
