Oh so I watched my videos, the lights are not under the pieces in the Set Up video, however, if you watch my "Shoes Full Length" video, at 33seconds in, you can see the lgihts under the pie pieces.

I have the white base stage for the PS Star stand alone. And when I want to change colors, I put led christmas lights underneath the pie pieces! You can do any color, and you can make them blink! Hurray! (There is a video of me setting up the star on my profile, if you scroll to the end of the video, I turn off the lights and turn on the party lights!)

You could aways consider getting a stage pole. No issues with the ceiling, and easy to move! I have a Platinum Stages star stand alone. Only needs 6ft of space. There is a set up video on my page.

@Alig79 You're welcome! I would love to own this line in every single color they sell! Plus a few special order colors! I really want some glitter boots!

@Camkobo I also own these in black thigh highs, and I never have any issue with them scratching the pole. I suppose you could always glue some sort of felt or cotton to each individual eyelet if you were so inclined.

For me, it's defintely all about the music! Putting the right tunes on can instantly get my booty bouncing and then my endorphins kick in! Just keep changing your music until something gets you moving, my favorites to warm up to are girly music like Britney Spears, Kesha, Christina Aguilera, etc. =)

Also, give yourself goals! Write on a white board, chalk board, piece of paper taped to the wall!

I usually teach my parties some basic "sexy moves" around the pole, walking, piroutte turns, some floorwork so they can get up sexy from the ground, some simple spins (front and back hook, fireman spin + leg variations, polesit / basic crucifix, etc), and then I teach a mini pole routine that they can customize. I also teach a sexy chair / lapdance. And at the end, I will play 3-4 short clips of different music for a pole dance "challenge" so they can try their skills to different styles. And yes of course, take lots of pics!

I don't see what the big deal is about grip aids! It's just another tool, like latex shorts, or grippy boots, or gloves. I personally love grip aids, I think I would just about die if I ran out of platinum grip. And rock climbing chaulk aalways helps my hands dry out.  I don't "depend" on grip to be able to do tricks, but it enables me to be hands on pole for upwards of 20-30 min without having to wipe the pole down at all! If I can improve my grip, while having more time on the pole then I'm all for it!

Now I will say that I agree with some of the other girls when I say you do need a certain amount of strength in order to be able to do certain tricks. Lots of practice will make perfect!

    Hey Holly,

I like to use both internal arnica, like the homeopathic pills that go under the tongue to be dissolved, and I make my own arinica oil and arnica balm that I can apply directly to the bruised area. I buy dried arnica online and then steep it with dried lavender in sunflower oil for 3-4 weeks. Then I filter it, and heat half of it with beeswax to make a thick balm that is better for use on dry skin. As opposed to the oil, which I normally use after a shower and my skin is slightly damp.

June 7, 2011 at 10:28 am in reply to: Help with talk on Pole Dancing!

This sounds like an AWESOME oppportunity to talk some new women into trying pole dance! =)

Just don't go into your presentation thinking that people are judging you or that they are disapproving. You would be surprised by how many women have always secretly wanted to try it, or are totally supportive of it, especially the older mom aged crowd!

As for bringing up strippers/strip clubs/ calling it dance vs fitness.. I guess that is a personal choice. People in class asked if I was a stripper, I just laughed and said no. I just enjoy pole dancing. And thats that. (I mean, just because I have sex, it doesn't make me a porn star LOL!!) Explain that clothes must stay on in class. Whatever happens, just address it honestly and with good humor and then MOVE ON!

If I were you.. I would start off the presentation with some clips of some REALLY fantastic polers. Play them some jaw dropping, crazy beautiful pole dance and tricks. Any time I show non poling friends people like Jenyne, Fawnia, Veena, etc they are always stunned and enthusiastic. It's ok to show them what CAN be done.

Talk to them with joy, and express how great dancing feels, and helps the body in so many ways. You can emphasize not only the skill, and the strength, but also that you can take it at your own pace, and the confidence you gain with your yourself.

Finish off with some simpler spins and maybe even have some volunteers try it out?

Have cards or literature to hand out too! Remember, eye on the prize.. New potential POLERS!

Have fun and good luck girly!

There is also a company called Pure, that sells raw organic fruit and nut bars, and they are to DIE for delicious!

I love snacks like sprouted nuts, bean dips, bean chips, etc. Check out a local health food store in your area. They usually have all kinds of delicious goodies.

I had SUCH a great time! Studio has PS stainless steel poles with spin and static, 45 and 50mm. Amazing! It’s decorated very cute, and they sell a wide variety of sexy shoes! Loves it!
We jammed out, Jenn gave me some helpful tips and advice for my classes. I will definitely hope to make it down here again.

I am in San Antonio today, an oh so excited about my pole jam with Jennifer aka Tiffany IntimateSpins! Was so flustered this morning I showed up 45 min early by accident! Lol. The studio is discretely placed in a strip mall, and from what I could see when peering in the windows it looks very sexy and fun! Big red lips in a frame, dark red curtains. I will take plenty of pics and videos!!

I highly reccomend a brand called TansAreNowSafe.com they offer custom airbrush tanning at salons and mobile. It always come out really natural looking. You can usually get a spray for $25 bucks or less. You can also buy a tan system (about a $200 investment) but if you split it with friends, you can all learn to spray each other and it's SUPER cheap if you can get a few peeps to throw in! A great option for college students, plus you could make some money on the side =)
