At least you can manage it, my Instructor doesn’t understand me at all lol I’m doing advanced moves but the only thing I can’t get is an air invert. Irritating as hell lol. My leg just doesn’t want to reach up above my head but my basic invert is great. I’m so excited I can’t wait to go and see everyone perform! Hopefully you can go 🙂

At the start I could only hold them for at the most about 2-3 seconds. I did them everyday for about 10mins. Now a year later I can hold myself up for 2-3 mins depending how I am that day lol. I also do weights now as well which I feel has helped the most. Going over your spins as well help because your building your arm strength one at a time. I’m still nowhere near how strong I know I could be, it’ll take time please don’t let it get to you. I was the same, so disheartened!

Hey 🙂 you are exactly the same as me when I started pole. My legs I can do anything with but my arms just weren’t strong enough for moves like butterfly and extended butterfly. My pole instructor advised me to do pole pull ups. Basically place your two hands on the pole about 3-4 inches above your head and pull yourself up, try to hold yourself up for as long as you can. Just keep repeating. It’s very important to swap each hand around so one is at the top and one is on the bottom each time as you want to work both arms evenly! Hope this helps as its worked for me 🙂

Lol raven you are spot on. My thoughts too. She wasn’t thinking of all us die hard pole fanatics when she was making the vid. She wanted the wow factor. She wanted viewers to remember her. So yeah you could say she done it well 😉 lol

Pity about all the polers who are now going to hunt her down with pitch forks and burn her on the stake. Lol. Getting carried away haha.

I just watched the full video there, and seriously I thinks it’s rubbish like all her music and videos. Not because of the pole or anything, just in general I hate all modern day “singers” because they are only singers for either of two reasons-1: they get naked to get the ratings or -2: they can’t sing and every note is computerised. That Is all 🙂

People who don’t pole or are on the outside of our hobby will never understand. In my opinion they will just never get it. No matter what videos are out there putting us down or on the other hand explaining why we do it to benefit our bodys and for muscle growth. People are always going to believe what they want to believe no matter what, for example my best friend. I asked her to start poling with me when I first started an her reaction was “no way! It’s really slutty is it not?” , now she sees me on my pole and says it looks amazing but she still wouldn’t do it because of the stigma. Each to their own.
Rhianna is a money making icon. And that’s it. Nothing more or less. She’s doing what she does best to keep the $$$$ rolling in. In all honesty I was a bit annoyed watching it, but at the same time I doubt she done it to put all us serious polers down.

She’s making money how she knows best. Exploitation. She wasn’t thinking of our poling community while she was at it.

Congrats congrats congrats :)))) I think it’s so cute you have to hide it from fb for a while so you find solace in us here at veenas lol I’m not sure if this helps you much but I was at a competition recently and there was a girl who was 3 months pregnant and was performing advanced Ariel hoop at it. You could see her tiny belly but she really threw herself in to every move and pose imaginable. Could you consult with your doctor as well? I know how you feel though not wanting to water it down when you know you can do more. Hope everything goes well for you 🙂

Haha katana that’s exactly how it is! Lol I was laughing reading your comment that’s exactly how most polers feel I think but don’t know how to describe it!

Oh, I was thinking that last week. I suck, I can’t do this , I can’t link moves … Then I set up my camera and recorded myself, it made such a difference! I can see exactly what u need to improve on now. Maybe you should try? I’m poling just a bit over 18months now and it’s only now that I feel I can hold poses longer and (sometimes lol) link moves. Pole is hard. Very hard. You will get it but don’t get down about it that’s the worst thing you can do although I know that’s easier said than done! As the girls have said before, everyone is different and have different strengths etc. keep going and one day you will surprise yourself just like I did the other day lol.
