hey ladies!
i agree that it would be much better, faster and easier if the comments were displayed with the most recent ones first!!! it´s a real pain in the a$$ to find the new messages!and i am also patiently waiting for some kind of notification function. e-mails wouldn´t even be necessary, just something to inform us the same as when we have a new friend or letter would suffice!
and btw, thanks every one who left comments on my profile in the last few months and that i only discovered yesterday! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif lol

i´m a trash rat! i´ve found the most wonderful things! i cannot pass a skip without taking a peek!
i´m planninning on mirroring a wall somewhere in the near future, but in the meantime i´ve been using 4 old mirrored wardrobe doors i found in a skip at the end of my street. one is unfortunately a fat mirror and another has a funky reflection and they´re all different sizes and not very big but it sure beats dancing to a white wall! and all i spent were some extra calories lugging them home one at a time as fast as possible before someone else came by to snatch them up! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif -
Do you deliver to Norway? The only thing they have in the shops here are the peek-a-boo ones, and I’m having trouble finding anyone that ships to Norway without it costing five times more than the pole itself :S
Sorry we sell to the US and Canada only. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gifhi minimarie!
it would be ridiculous to have an x-pole shipped from the u.s., besides the huge shipping cost you´d probably also have to pay import tax which is usually high.
try these european sites : http://www.verticalfitness.co.uk/ or http://www.x-pole.co.uk/
they´ll ship to anywhere in europe. and the shipping costs are reasonable. and you can be sure they´re authentic x-poles. oh and the vertical dance site offers a free week of online lessons as a bonus…
or maybe they can even inform you if there are any x-pole representatives in norway.
good luck!

I found this dvd and was thinking of buying it. what do you all think?
http://www.poleexercise.co.uk/buy/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
i have this dvd and am not really impressed by it. the lighting is really crappy and i found the instructions for the moves were a bit confusing. although that might have been just me being distracted by the endless repetition of the awful backround music. and it is stictly just the moves, absolutely no transitions or anything to connect them together. not a speck of sexiness in the whole thing.totally sport oriented. and almost all the names are different.
veenas lessons are much better and very affordable.
all in all i think this is a good dvd to accidently on purpose leave on the coffee table for breaking the news to your mom or someone or if you have teenagers in the house. they´ll see poling is hard work but kind of boring and not slutty like they imagined it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

jennasmom, if you got an x-pole don´t be waiting around! it´s so easy you can put it yourself and get spinning right away!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

if while you´re dancing with some guy who´s not very creative you go into automatic pilot and are actually thinking about the pole moves you could be doing to the music you´re listening to to the point where you´ve totally and freakishly forgotton who you are dancing with, you may be a pole dancer,
-
you were awsome!
pity though for some odd reason i couldn´t hear the music…

this is an awsome thread!
if your suffer from insomnia because thinking about pole dancing trying to work out the moves in your head is keeping you from falling asleep night after night, you may be a pole dancer. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif

Also try to cradle up from the floor as a spin up instead of doing the full spin down. You don’t have to spin around the pole as much so it’s easier in that regard and it’s a pretty way to get up – plus you are conditioning yourself for the spin down. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
cradle spin up??? i´m just not able to picture it, do you have any vids that show this charley?
big hug! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif frida https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif
ps: unbelievably, i can actually do this spin. i think i got it easily because one of the first things i learned on the pole was to jump up and tuck into the cradle position just as a pose and not a spin. it builds strength in your arms and abs and i always do some each time i practice. when i found out you could do it as a spin, i tried and got it right off! it´s not perfect but i´ll get there…

hi sissy!
i can´t wait to see what kind of answers you get to this post! i feel exactly the same way! i´m totally obsessed and go on for hours talking ( https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_puke_r.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_puke_r.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_puke_r.gif )about the pole to anyone who will listen ,or at least pretend to listen…lol
but i cant really do much yet besides a few spins and pole sitting…
are we poledancers? or maybe almost pole dancers, gonnabe poledancers…big hug https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif frida https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

for a minute i thought noone had understood what i was talking about!
i wasn´t talking about freestyle sexy walking, but actually about 2 very different tecniques of walking around the pole. i was hoping to get more feedback on this like if they have different names or like where did the leaning off the pole thing came from, but oh well.
thanks ritalin for your reply, you got what i meant.
it is way more difficult to put some sass into the walking if you´re leaning off the the pole. now i understand why i was having so much trouble with that. i´ve never actually fallen but i do lose my balance alot. i think i´m going to mix it up and use the normal walk most of the time so i can do the sexy stuff and use the leaning off tecnique when i relly need some momentum for a spin.
big hugs and thanks for the imput ladies!

ok foxy, relax! it´s not life threatening! just a big pain in the a** or more acurately your wrist!
this is unbelievably common (but not really ever heard about ailment), and statisticly more women get it then men and it can happen at any age. it´s basicly a lump full of sinovial liquid (sort of like the oil in our joints) which has leaked out through a little valve and can´t get back in. it´s sometimes very painful and sometimes not at all. they can suddenly dissapear but almost always come back. the back of your wrist is the most common place but they can also appear between your finger or thumb joints, knees ankles , etc. most of the time its linked to repetitive strain and not necessarily a sudden trauma. one of the theories is that the little valve gets weaker and weaker until one day it lets out some of the liquid. although i´ve done alot of researching about this i am definately not an expert and would still prefer that you google ganglion cyst to get more clear info on it.i can give you some tips though because medically they usually don´t take this very serously and most of the time when people have them removed its because they look weird and not because of the pain.
sleep with the splint and keep it on for anything really strenous while its in the hurting fase. but dont keep it on all the time because then your wrist will just get weak an make it worse. put an ice cube directly on the lump for about 10 min 3xday for about a week and do ttc excersises after each time. (the same as lilbit wrist excersice except keep the good wrist fixed in position, you won´t understand but you can look at the pics on this link: http://www.wgate.com.br/conteudo/medicinaesaude/fisioterapia/eletro/tecnica_clauton/tecnica_clauton.htm )
supposedly this helps the liquid to drain back into the right place.don´t do any of the bible bashing, will only further weaken the valve and it will come back!
as for medical tratment the 3 most common are:
1- injecting a carticoid(?) into the lump to reduce the inflamation.
2- removing the liquid with a syringe. many believe this isn´t a very good idea because they almost always come back and if you keep removing the liquid youll eventually be left with none to protect your joints, tendons nerves in that area. your body will not produce more liquid.
3- surgically removed and they block up the valve thingy. testemonials say that its like 6 weeks withought being able to use your hand and it´s very painful. and again in at least 50 percent of the cases they eventually come back!i did the ice and ttc and except for this week have not had any pain for months! have to start doing the excersises asap. of course i can´t pick up things in certain ways , cant do pushups normaly i have to do them in fists to not bend back the wrist. i had said that it might have been the spins but now that i think about it i think it might of been from sleeping with my hands in a bad position. i´m not very advanced so my wrist hasn´t really been a problem on the pole but if i get to something that bends back my wrist and hurts i´ll probably have to learn it on the other side.
i hope this helps! see a doctor if it gets way too painful!
now that you know about this you´ll probably start noticing alot of peoples lumpy wrists! lol! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif remember veena´s i.t.y.´s vid? looked like she had one also, but hopefully i´m mistaken!

hey foxy!
thought i was going a bit mad there for a minute not being able to find this post! but it was because you just wrote on it. lol
i was wondering, if you you hold out your forearm and hand in front of you paralel to the floor and then relax your hand bending at the wrist, is there a lump there? on the back of your wrist.it could be very small or even quite large.
if so then it´s probably a ganglion cyst. google it, i don´t want to write an enormous post about something you might not even have.i´ts a very common thing and although there are a bunch of surgical ways to treat it they almost always come back. it´s funny because all the site in english go directly into suggesting to have it surgicly removed and give no alternative therapies. all the sites in portuguese all suggest avoiding surgery and doing fisio therapy. non of the methods are long term effective so i prefer the fisio to spending weeks with an inactive hand or having even more problems in the future because all the sinovial fluid has been drained from the joint.
sleeping with the splints will help. putting an ice-cube directly on the lump. and doing an exercise with a towel that is basicly the wrist strengthning exercise that lilbit posted a while back.
mine hadn´t bothered me for a while until this week when i overdid it with some spins, and i haven´t been doing the excersises as much as i should( shame on me).
hope this helps
big hug and get well soon! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif frida https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif -
wow thailand! i think you´ll probably have forgotton the pole by the 3rd day. lol. and if you´ll actually be backpacking you´ll be doing plenty of weight lifting especially as the bag gets heavier and heavier with souveneers !
what i am definately taking on my next holiday are elastic bands, like the kind you use in fisio therapy. don´t know what they´re called in english. i got mine at a sports shop where they come in packs of 3 levels of resistence (i´ve seen them in one shop where they had big rolls and they cut you how much you wanted).
anyway you can do most of the excersises you´d do with a pair of weights. the main thing to remember is not to focus only on stretching the elastic, it´s the letting go very slowly that really gives you the workout. and the best thing is one of them folded up will fit in your back pocket! you will need to sprinkle a bit of baby powder every so often so they don´t get all stuck together.
hope this helps!
hugs and have a great time! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif frida https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif -

aw sweetie, please don´t be so hard on yourself! we all have bad days (sometimes lasting many days..).
your such a sweet, caring, funny, gorgeous and imensly talented person! i look up to you. the way you´ve overcome your shyness and actually become a bulesque dancer!!! and you always have great advice for all of us. and i could go on and on but i think you get the point.
as for learning routines… i know what that´s like. the frustration of always being the last one in class or whatever to get the sequence only to forget it almost imediatly after. (seriously, i cannot remember my own coreographies for more than a few days. i have to write everything down or better yet film them and then relearn for each performance) i used to have an awful time with performance anxiety and many times thought of giving up. but with all the extra practice that i put myself through i was actually the better dancer. my steps were clean and fast. so i just started improvising more. most people are scared to death of improv and so was i but i got over it. i´m always ready to do a solo if necessary . i can usually get out of doing too many planned routines by offering to do a solo or two. nobody else wants to and it´s a way of adding a few minutes to a show or just giving the other girls more time to change. works well for everyone.
try to find a way for your dissabilities to work for you in a positive way. and in the meantime pole those blues away girl!!!
