I’m basically just repeating what everyone else is saying, but I still wanted to add my vote: I also tend not to watch every single video when there’s several in a row by the same person. When you sit and watch them all at once, they get kinda monotonous, no matter how good they are. To be honest, I didn’t even watch all of Jungle’s videos when he went on his posting spree and I probably haven’t seen them all yet! (where’s Jungle been lately, anyway? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif ) It also tends to shuffle others’ videos off the first page causing theirs to be overlooked…
If it makes you feel any better, there have been a couple threads I’ve started that didn’t get responses at all or took like a week for someone to respond.
But I know you’re trying to play catch-up with posting the videos since you had problems getting them uploaded. But you’re still an awesome dancer and we all enjoy watching you! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif Keep posting!

I’m not sure how much help I can be, but let’s see…
When I learned the gemini (and the scorpio, too) my problem was the pole burn on the inside of my thigh, not my knee… So the only thing I’m thinking of is experiment with how you’re gripping the pole and see if you can grip with your thigh more than the knee??? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_question.gif But then again, everyone has different levels of pain tolerance in different parts of their bodies, so maybe you have like uber resilient thighs and I have the resilient knees! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
Another thing I would try is to try to take the weight off that leg a bit, like still hold on with your hands or if you’re doing it no-handed, let your armpit take a bit more weight (but don’t fall!). Let your knee get used to the feeling of the pole and the friction, and slowly add more weight on the leg alone as it gets used to it.
Fortunately, there are usually only 2 answers to pain in pole dancing. Unfortunately, they’re not very good answers! It’s usually either the grip is wrong or it’s just a matter of sucking it up and getting used to it… lol! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif But maybe some of the other girls here have some better tips… Good Luck! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I think the titanium poles that Veena have available are only in the gold color, but I could be wrong… Some countries other than the US have the silver titanium ones available if you order straight from X-Pole, like I know NZ and Aussie land do… I still recommend ordering from Veena if you’re not that picky, though https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
I haven’t tried a titanium pole (mine is chrome) but I’ve heard the grip is better than chrome, and that the gold titanium is slightly grippier than the silver titanium (heard that from Rouge, they have quite a variety of poles at their studio). But whether or not it’s a huge difference or not, I’m not sure.
If I don’t find a cure for my super sweaty hands in the near future I’m going to be setting my sights on a titanium one, too… so I’m interested in any responses from some people who know more about this than I do, too!
Sorry I couldn’t be more help, but I would double check on the colors of the titanium ones from wherever you order from if you’re set on getting a silver titanium one instead of gold…

Oh this is off topic but yes yes yes yes YES get an X-Pole and get rid of that Electra-pole!!! That’s what I started on and it was crap after just a couple weeks of doing virtually nothing but spins!!! I’m amazed yours has lasted this long!!! I personally am not a fan of credit cards so saving is the way to go, in my opinion, so good luck and try not to hurt yourself on that POS pole in the meantime!

Put a bag together??? What bag??? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_question.gif You’re starting to make me nervous about the one I’ll be going to because apparently I haven’t a clue how an amateur night works!!! Oi…
But you’ll be fine, Glitter… I know we’re all acting so nonchalant about this meanwhile you’re panicking, but that’s because we all have faith in you and know you can do it! You’re a great dancer; just pretend you’re at home alone in front of your camera and have some fun! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif You’ll do wonderfully!

I don’t know why, but I’m like super excited about this whole round-off, cartwheel difference thing… lol! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
Oh go ahead and post it, Veena, you could call it the first attempts caught on tape https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_tongue.gif But yeah, I hate technology too… my camera runs out of memory or battery dies without warning, so there’s been several times I’ve been dancing and gone over to find out the camera shut off 5 minutes ago! Then I have to scramble to find new batteries or whatever… But I’d love to see it, true first attempts or not! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Lol cue the cheesy joke drums (you know, the bah-dunk – chink!)
I’m obviously in favor of it, so https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cyclops_ani.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cyclops_ani.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cyclops_ani.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cyclops_ani.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cyclops_ani.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cyclops_ani.gif

Thanks for all the tips! I’ll definitely be trying to put them to good use.
I took gymnastics for a few months when I was much younger, so the ways I do the headstands and handstands is kinda habit, but I can practice the other ways. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
I should probably also note I have really short ceilings, only 7′, and I wouldn’t be able to do the caterpillar climb. I only have enough room for a caterpillar (unless I slide all the way down, then maybe I’d have room for 1 climb).
But thank you! I’ll keep these in mind! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I’m the opposite – more productive at night. I also find I’m more productive when I’m alone; I can’t seem to practice in front of my husband.
My day starts at 5:00 AM: wake up, get ready for work, out the door at 5:30 to be there by 6:00. I work until 2:30ish, and pick up my daughter from the sitters on the way home. I try to do my housework and such then. Dinner is usually around 6 or 6:30 (it keeps getting later and later because it’s not getting dark as soon to give me my cue to start cooking!). My daughter’s bath time is at 7:30 and she’s in bed around 8, and after going through the living room real quick to pick up the aftermath of my 18-month-old, then it’s my pole time. I usually practice for about an hour and a half or so, but that depends on several things. After I’m done, whatever time that is, I’m usually on the forums here until I either get too tired to stay awake or my husband gets home at 11:30. Even on my days off I usually end up practicing at night.

There is a unsubscribe or stop watching, this topic, portion on any email you get. Just click on that. So if you read your whole email you should see this on the bottom……
If you no longer wish to watch this topic you can either click the
"Unsubscribe topic" link found at the bottom of the topic above, or by
clicking the following link:Yeah I saw that, but I was just kinda hoping that there was one place to just unsubscribe to all of them; however the email filter thing is a good idea, I didn’t think of that. So I may just do that and that will suffice. Thanks!
And thanks about the video comment thing, I’ll be patient and I’m sure everyone else will, too https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif Thank you!!!
