My first pole was a 50mm X pole sport, chrome then a year later I got a 45mm Xpert chrome as I thought I'd like to try spinny,

I wanted a 45mm as I have smallish hands and found my grip on the 45mm feels so much better.  I do use spinny sometimes but mainly use static because I feel so sick each time when I put it on spinny.   I've read the tips and blogs about getting used to spinny  mode but nothing seems to work as I end up feeling so sick and giddy each time, I wish I could do it because spinny does look really pretty, thats why I keep trying. 😉

Yesterday it was so humid I alternated between actually getting stuck to the pole when inverted and then sweating so much I slid straight off I used the fan a towel and my husbands shaving gel on the back of my knees and then my side climb and Superman was great again. I’m a bit confused about which grip too try I need to look at previous posts to work out which would be best.

Hi,  I've got a 6 inch mat from poledancemat.uk, There's pictures of it on my profile that I did for another girl on here a little while ago.  I was going to get a 4 inch mat but the 6inch was only about £30 more. its brilliant the foam is firm and excellent quality.

I pole on a hard concrete kitchen floor and the mat is as good as new one year after I bought it.  I'm in the u.k and the only other mat at the time I could find was the lulu mat but that was just too expensive, I think I paid £150 inc p&p

Hi, I originally got a 50mm chrome but then got a 45mm after a year which I absolutely love. I think if you have petite hands a 45mm is a good option, my hands are smallish and I feel more secure on the 45mm as my fingers didn't reach around the 50mm at all.  I have only used chrome, it can be slippery in the winter but I didn't want a too grippy pole. Can you try any out first, I couldn't so I stuck with chrome as it works for me 🙂

I love my 45mm, I started with an X pole sport 50mm, because the 45mm were out of stock at the time  and I was going to learn at home so had never tried out any poles.  I found the 50mm a little too big for my small hands and  the grip was really hard, so I read a load of stuff here and ordered the 45mm last year and got loads of moves straightaway, like the chopper and superman that I sruggled to do on my 50mm.  I could probably do them now on the 50mm, but I think I would find the grip hard. I love my 45mm! 🙂
