@Briannabohannah, Thanks for your reply. It's really helpful coz I want to order them next week. The only thing I was going to ask is, the top of my legs are a bit chunky at the moment around 22 inches do you think the medium would be too tight here. I want them to be snug but not cut off my blood supply, lol. 😉

I just got the spiderback top in large and it fits me perfectly. I was going to order the brazillian shorts in large, my hips vary from 371/2 to about 381/2 Iinches, after looking at a couple of size charts for the U.K wholesalers i'm a bit confused I dont want to order medium if I can't get my big bum in them, I'm usually a U.K. 14 any advice appreciated. Thanks.

She is amazing, with a great body too. I'm 47 and only started poling just over a year ago so hopefully plenty of poling years left in me.

I just find it hard to pull up from the leg hook, I need to develop more upper body strength I think!! but at least now I'm starting to get there.
I am at a very intermediate level. I've been learning with Dvd's for just over a year but I've only been able to do the inverted V since June and also just got the CAR, it scared me more than when I was learning to invert crucifix, gemini etc. I did try the inverted V on spinning mode the other day for the first time but too much spinny makes me queasy its my age I think!! so I keep spinny for fun at the end or I'd be hanging over the kitchen sink for an hour. Good luck with V and I'll keep persevering with my Cupid from leg hook or I'll never get the Superman.

I'm still going to have to work on my core strength but I feel like I'm getting there after several weeks of nothing so thank you, now if only I could do a shoulder mount, i feel that a very long way away but something to aim for. Happy poling.

I just couldnt do this move properly but when I got a 45mm X pole I felt more confident with my grip than with my 50mm and found at last I could do it, although it wasn't very pretty . I love spinning this move now but I have to watch I dont kick the radiator lol Look forward to seeing the video, Good luck 😉

Hi Joalex,
I'm from the U.K. and I've been learning at home with DVDs too. Good luck with the Superman I'm not there yet, so very impressed , I love it when you keep working on something and then one day you get it and you feel so good that all that work and sweat has really paid off but sometimes its really frustrating. Good luck too with the routine.

It looks like the release date for the dvds isn't until 15th September.

I originally bought an X pole sport 50mm as I'd never touched a pole before and read that 50mm was the industry standard, I loved my chrome pole but after a year of poling at home I decided (after reading a lot of threads om the forum) I should get a 45mm chrome X Pert . I'm so pleased I did because immediately I could do the chopper and other moves that I couldnt do before. I do have small hands and I did find my grip stronger with the 45mm. I didnt find it too hard to do CAR and pole sits etc inversions felt the same, but I do have curvy thighs lol.

Totally agree, my 6 year old girl loves to climb it and swing around it its just a bit of equipment to her. My 13 year old girl has jumped on it a few times just for fun and is ok about it, she just laughed and said something about a friends Mum got a spinning bike to excercice on and youve got a spinning stripper pole!!

For anyone interested I emailed Felix Cane site and they said they were currently updating the site to offer the option of buying individual dvds instead of just the box set and also felix's clothing line. It should be up and running with these adjustments in the next two weeks. 🙂

Well done. I stopped smoking over 16 years ago, it was really hard but one of the best things I did. I stopped smoking on and off but started to smoke again when my husband underwent surgery for a subarachnoid brain haemorrhage. A year or two later I read a brilliant little book by Allen Carr and was determined to give up . I think it def worked like hypnotherapy and I just decided to quit and followed his instructions. The best thing is to think of all the benefits you get from not smoking, better health, nicer smelling hair and clothes, less wrinkles when you are older!, more cash to buy all things pole related etc. Put that little cigarette demon in his place and do anything but smoke when you are tempted as the feeling does pass and def think of the long term positives which outweigh that little moment of pleasure. Good luck.

Thanks Veena I definitely think this would be my best option. I think once summer holidays are over I will get the Gold subscription as it works out at such good value for a years tuition and it would give me some structure to my pole workouts.

@ Nymphdancer Is the Vertical Dance 2 dvd good, I started with the first one but the music is aaaahhhh!!! and I wondered if the intermediate/advaced dvd is worth getting. As .I'm in the Uk the postage on some of the dvds really bumps the price up. I might just get rest of the art of pole, its challenging but really well explained by Jamilla, and as I dont go to lessons I do need a good visual,

@ Nymphdancer Hi, mailto:I@ve got three dvds as I started with vertical dance workout with K T Coates , Lucy Misch pole excercise dvd which is good but sort of takes you through moves in no particular order of strength and I got a little disheartened. I recently got the art of pole 3, as Ive learnt to invert and chopper inverted crucifix etc, There are no classses near me and I think I am going to save for Veenas Gold but I was interested in Felix's intermediate dvd for now , do you recommend any others for an intermediate (just!!) are the Bespun dvds good? Any advice appreciated.

I just looked at the site and it appears that you have to order the complete set of five and it works out at £112 pounds to the UK, I know someone has already posted this info but I thought maybe I could order individual dvds. There is another site for felix offering the dvds for individual sale but when I tried with paypal it didnt work!!! Anyway I think I"ll wait for reviews and then try to order .

@:Madfelice and Lyme Lyte, Thanks for your advice. We loosened the pole this afternoon, just a little and it does seem a lot better and I'll take your advice and give it time to settle a little. Its great to get some good advice as Ive had an x pole sport for the last year and have never used a spinny pole till I got the xpert last week, spinny is fun but I'm suffering from a little motion sickness! lol.

@ Madfelice, Hi did you sort out your pole? Ive just got an expert 45mm i love it but I seem to have a similar prolblem to you it sort of sticks in one place and then moves freely again not noticeable on fireman spins etc, but if I climb it virtually stops I wondered if it was me as Ive never tried spinning before and its my technique (lack of lol!) I will take Veena advice and loosen it a little

MemberMay 5, 2011 at 8:38 am in reply to: First inversion (w/ a crash mat =P)…anyone scared to invert like me??Ive just started to invert. I waited till I felt strong enough and saved up and bought a big pink crash mat 6 inches thick. I asked my husband to standby and tried it . Having the crash mat made all the difference, it gave me confidence to try it. There are no classes near me in the UK, and my X pole is on a really hard floor, but I did it. I'm going to get some of Veenas lessons too. I bought an 50mm Xpole sport but I wished Id got a 45mm has my hands are smallish and I find it hard to grip the pole for some moves.
