I don’t want to rip skin off myself, or rip up my hubby’s garage roof! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif I’m probably better off steering away from these poles. Thanks for your help, Charley and Chemgoddess!

It is good to know that strong fingertips are little "helpers" rather than utterly essential elements to pole dancing. Hopefully my fingers will get stronger with use and, even if those two fingertips don’t, hopefully they won’t interfere.
I’m still a little stumped about pole size and finish. I’m doing tons of research (reading so much every day online that my eyes get buggy! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif ) I’m not sure if I want a grippier finish to make things easier, or if that would be giving me "crutches" or if it would hurt the delicate, thin skin of those damaged fingers. I think I could definately handle a 2" diameter, but again wonder if it would be easier for my weak hand to grip a 1.75". https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif Decision-making is not my strong suit (ranks right up there with my lack of patience https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif) and there are so many brands, finishes, and sizes to choose from that, just when I think I’ve made decision, I change my mind again. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif The research continues…

You should totally take a pic of yourself using the support jack as your pole!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif
That would be a funny profile pic! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

That is a fabulous idea you guys came up with for using a board across the rafters to act as my "roof". I told hubby about it and he agreed. I may eventually get a stage pole for the fun of it, but I’ll start with a standard pole for sure now that I know it’s possible. Thanks again! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif
Now I just need to decide on a pole, a finish, and a width…too many options, they all have their pros/cons and I’m bad at decision making. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

Veena, I will definately be signing up for your lessons! I watched all your videos yesterday as well as your two sample lessons and I thoroughly enjoyed them. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif Should I admit it…okay, I will; I tried your pole sit move on the support jack. I couldn’t let go with my hands, but I was sitting there just fine! Now I’ve got a vivid bruise on my inner thigh, and a sense of accomplishment to go along with it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif It’s definately time for me to get a real pole…
