What an idiot, I completely forgot about Sweet Vixen Couture http://www.sweetvixencouture.com , I think they're based in the UK now. I haven't bought anything from there yet but when I have money I'll probably get some shorts 🙂

I've mainly got my pole wear from sports direct, got a nice pair of nike shorts from there and also a nike sports bra that I LOVE (it doesn't squish my boobs for once, it enhances them woohoo lol!).

I got a pair of adidas shorts from ebay ( http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Adidas-Womens-Supernova-Black-Fitted-Running-Gym-Shorts-Ladies-Fitness-P41059-/110863282799?pt=UK_Sporting_Goods_Sports_Clothing_LE&var=&hash=item5f7c33c7b1 same ones as these from the same seller) they're perfect for pole & I'm tempted to buy another pair.

Other than that I keep an eye on topshop, new look or urban outfitters for croptops, coming up to summer they'll probably have a few in.

urbanyoga.co.uk sells onzie but it's quite expensive still 🙁 was hoping to get some for xmas from my boyfriend but the hints fell on deaf ears!

I really need more pole shorts though! I don't wear shoes so I'm no help there, but from what I've found jagerstore.co.uk is the cheapest place online for them in the UK.

I'm planning on coming 🙂 not sure whether I'll bring a friend or not though because it would depend on her work schedule.

Is there room to put up another pole? I could bring my 45mm Xpert with me if there is (I'll have a car by then YAY!)

Also, my studio's having a Jess Norris workshop one weekend in April (I'm not sure if it's open to other students or not, sorry :-/ I'm not sure a date's even been set yet!) so hopefully they won't end up being the same weekend!

I used a black swimming costume with side cut outs for a performance recently and tit-taped it in place lol. it worked really well!
I wore a pair of black seamless primary boy shorts over the top so I wouldn’t flash anything ha. Asos had quite a few costumes in stock last time I looked, could also try river island/new look too

I think April could work out best too.

I've just got a new job but I'll probably be working odd shift times (1330 to 2200) and trying to move to a new house at the same time in Feb/March, so it'll be a bit hectic!

If you haven't already, then watch the x pole assembly videos – the instructions with the pole itself are a bit confusing but the video makes it a lot easier!

Hey Greenleaf 🙂 I used a stud finder from Homebase (it's yellow and black, I can't remember the make) and as long as you follow the instructions it should work fine. Make sure that it's pressed flat against the ceiling when you use it and it should be ok!

If you don't know which direction the joists run in then check in your loft (if you have one), the joists will be in the same direction in your ceiling as in the loft.

Also, I found it useful to use a pencil to mark either side of the joist so I know where to put my pole each time I put it up! I rent too and so far my pole hasn't caused any damage at all.

A pole jam is just a chance for us all to get together at a studio and hang out for a couple of hours, work on things, teach each other new moves, give tips, mess around, chat and generally have a great time 🙂

Oh and use clothing/tit tape! So many girls at our Christmas showcase had wardrobe slip ups (or outs rather) because they didn't stick things on and in lol. I used it to stop my shorts riding up and to stop my boobs falling out just in case, even though neither had happened in rehersal.

Video your routine rehersals from the start, you'll pick up on so many things – I did my first performance recently and only videod my final practice, then realised that I hated how one part actually looked and had to change it 1hr before the performance!

Clean the pole before you start, it gives you a chance to see what condition it's in after the last performance and it'll warm up the pole too.

Also reiterating littlelindsay's point, only use moves you know you can pull off under any condition! Dont put things in you only nail half of the time :).

    Good luck with it!

The guy in the Blood, Sweat and Hotpants (https://www.facebook.com/bloodsweathotpants?group_id=0) wears nubuck leather jeans on the pole but I'd imagine that they're quite pricey! He says in it that they give good grip without being too sticky.

Try contacting X pole customer service they might be able to send you some? I had a quick look online at a few DIY stores and couldn't see anything similar to what you need.

I LOVE the bake off!! I think you should definitely include it in your application, although perhaps put pole fitness instead of pole dance – may encourage a more open mind set!

Good luck with the application x

Practice lifting off the ground  without stepping round into a pole hold rather than jumping, then practice one step round the pole to push off before lifting up into a pole hold, then try push off a little more etc etc. I now find that I can't get enough spin sometimes!

I have a confession…stretching has completely fallen by the wayside this past few weeks https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif no excuses I just didn't stretch. I doubt I'll have my splits by christmas now.

    How is everyone else doing?
