So I quit last Friday…I started with the patch and realized it was giving me a rash and making my arms hurt so I took it off. I am over a week done. So far so good. It’s been sort of cold turkey and there have been moments where I have held a cigarette and lighter in my hand and stared blankley down but haven’t lit up.
It kind of helped when I saw my 17 year old niece smoking. I realized I had been smoking since being her age and all I could think about was how tough it is to quit and how I have wanted to quit – so I did.
I went from a pack and a half -2 packs a day to zilch, nada, nothing. It sucks but I am hoping the day comes soon that I won’t think about it anymore.

As far as I know they are not sold in the UK but you could always email them to double check.
You can also make your own powder coated pole. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Perhaps you could use them if you wanted a static AND spin mode home made pole.
The pole looks great! I am thinking about maybe doing a do it yourself skinny pole.

MemberNovember 22, 2009 at 1:20 am in reply to: You shouldn’t go to strip clubs and heckle the strippersI wrote 2 really long responses and deleted them. Basically it boils down to this. Stripping is customer service. If they couldn’t give lap dances then I am not sure what kind of club it is and what patrons expect to get out of it. Marketing 101 – know your target demo. If guys like just like looking at pretty girls that’s fine. I’m not sure if I understand what kind of service they are supposed to provide in the described setting.
All I’m saying is yes it was certainly a faux pau but who cares the dancer has long forgotten it while we still debate stripper vs pole dancer. There is no ammends to be made and if it were me – I’d be over it, whether I was the dancer or the remarkee. There is no point in making anyone feel worse than they already did. It happened and I think we all learn the while we are all entitled to an opinion – look around to see who is over hearing that opinion as it can be painful no matter how true anyone thinks it is. Sissy might have been bored but on the otherside of the bar there may have been a guy making rain because he was freaking entertained. Let’s keep in mind what women and men get out of strip clubs are different things entirely.
PC is just telling the truth. She is telling you what strippers really do think. If anyone wants to get inside the heads of strippers go http://www.stripperweb.com and read through their forum. Please don’t flame as that is a place for current and veteran industry workers. If you further want to know what men are thinking go to the male side of the forum. Again no flaming. Let’s not do pole dancer vs stripper, let’s just try to learn about each other.
We are all women. Mothers, daughters, friends, lovers, employees, employers.
The only comment I took offense to was the one about installing wieners instead of poles. I thought it was downright crude for a woman to suggest another woman should grind on a wiener instead of a pole. I know some thought it was funny but step back a minute and realize anyone could say that about pole dancers as well and how inflamed would we be if they did? We need to nurture one another not degrade one another. Which for the most part while this is a very intense thread with very strong opinions I think it has been handled in an open and honest and respectful manner. For the most part.

I think that drawing a line between stripping and pole dancing is negative to woman kind. I know several strippers who look down on women who pole dance outside of the industry and instructors without prior club experience. I am often offended at these attitudes.
If we sit here and say that strippers are not pole dancers that is the same as them saying we are house wives trying to be like them because we are jelous. Now is that true at all? Ofcourse not.
If you move around a pole you are a pole dancer. I don’t think it’s fair to cut people down because they cannont or are unwilling to do tricks. Tricks do not make the dancer. Why do we congratulate each other for doing whole songs of just dance without tricks and love it yet a stripper doesn’t have the same freedom?
Do we do pole dancing or pole tricks? I think that strippers are professional pole dancers – this is what they do day in and day out for hours for sometimes unthankful patrons.
Pole dancing shouldn’t be so divided between dancers and strippers. Think about it. Some of the biggest names in pole dancing came from a strip club background. We have no idea how long it took them to learn tricks or how they did it or if they were in a club today if they would bother. Just because all of our routines include tricks doesn’t mean that is the only way to pole dance. Pole dance can be an all encompassing art.
I think it’s fair to be disappointed at the lack of tricking in strip clubs and it’s totally an american freedom to express your dislike for the performances. I just we need to try to understand where one another is coming from rather than drawing lines in the sand.
We don’t put down new pole dancers for not having a lot of tricks – so I don’t think we should do it to others outside of this community.
I know, Sissy you never meant for anyone to overhear what you were saying and you were honestly giving your opinion in an A-B conversation. There is nothing wrong with that.
I just feel like if our attitudes don’t change, why should we expect strippers to embrace us? After all , this really is theirs. How can we be offended when strippers call us bored house wives. And some of them do.

VB – when my girls get to SM they’ll be learning it from a reverse SM first. Going back to what Veena said – working the negative builds strength faster and from a pole perspective we have far less to fall if if goes awry.
Going into a shouldermount is very painful on those who haven’t done it before and while there are a lot of prep moves the reverse in my opinion is the best way to understand the sm V and they can if they wish keep there legs on the pole to acclimate themselves to the shoulder stress. They have the the option of when they want to take their legs off the pole vs, going up and hoping to grab with an ankle. If they want they can safely slide down the pole in sm position without legs leaving the pole.
I don’t think it’s backwards at all.

When I go into clubs I do not expect to see many tricks. What I do love is that most exotic dancers have their own thing going, their style of movement that I love watching. The basics of their moves and transitions and floor work always gives me ideas for way to make my dancing more fluid.
I think if you were going to a club to see tricks – that would be a rather big disappointment. A lot of men don’t appreciate pole and they tip on looks and boobies. SO why tire yourself out doing an acrobatic show? Give the customers what they want. Plus you work long shifts on your feet in pleasers – not fun. Most of your money comes from lapdances anyway. There is no point in putting on the cirque of strip club shows. Not to mention that a lot of strip club poles are old and hard to grip and usually not very clean. Depending on the scale of the club they don’t like you to wash the pole between dancers(this is a lot at upscale clubs.)
What strippers do really well is make eye contact, make the dancing personal, they rock out floor work and sensual movement and booty moves https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
Let’s keep in mind that pole dancing came from these very girls. They’ve given us a gift – something that we may do on a higher level tricks wise – but they are the ones breaking their backs doing the long hours and dealing with the public. For us – our pole dancing is getting more and more acceptable everyday – their pole dancing likely will never be.

Pole tickles is right – from the floor no kicking.
Some other exercise that might be helpful are the "kick slide" although it’s not truly a kick slide. Stand with your back to the pole in SM stance and and slowly bring in leg off the ground – keep it up, then bring the other off the ground. Don’t worry about height just focus on trying to hold your legs up.
Also work on a slow reverse SM. Very slow and controlled. Try holding the SM split as long as you can – this will also build those abs. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

I would have paid you double that to be the chair you were grinding on.
Love ya.
Free for you!!!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gifI would bet my whole paycheck that if you had sucked and fumbled and fell all over the place…they would have given you a standing ovation LOL. Haters.
I thought about that too. Everything you wrote is probably 100% spot on. It was just a BAD venue for something like this. I don’t blame the audience, I blame the event coordination. You have to account for everyone attending your event. She should have researched chair dancing first.
Next time- invite your pole peeps! Once the crowd hears us clapping, they might be willing to join in.
HAHAHAHA! I can imagine you and Quila being their screaming your lungs out. LOL! I would have given more fore notice but I found on Friday about the event.
Who know maybe one of those women really wants to take a class and will call. I can understand not wanting to spread your legs in front of a room full of men and women. I just do it anyway https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

nakie pays. guys don’t care about tricks they care about boobies. lol!
AND stripping is a great way to make money – not sure how the economy has effected things as of late – none the less you’ll make a lot more money doing that as Miss Julie says than waiting on them. YOU have to determine your own boundries – no one can yes do it or no don’t but if you are thinking about it – you deserve to give yourself the option to see.
I hated dancing. I won’t ever do it again. But then I hated selling guitars and number of things I have sold. Stripping = sales and is soooo not my forte. I can’t sell grip aid to sweaty polers. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif
