Speaking generally, a well designed app usually takes up less battery power than a phone based web-browser. That’s really my only personal, solid reason.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZeAgpCqUE8 Here’s what I’m talking about. THIS is what happens every time I post a video with music, embedded or otherwise. It gets muted.

You can always get those lace up things that go all the way up your leg to firmly plant them on your feet. Just tie under the heel and around the ankle and you should be good to go. I have never worn that style of shoe, but know many dancers who do adv tricks in them. I think it will just take some getting used to 🙂

I do not recommend the 609s. The last two pairs I’ve had, and also girls that I’ve worked with, have had patent rip within hours (never happened with my Tony’s) and also have had lifting of the sole within a day or two. I’m glad I quit dancing and don’t have to pay into shoes anymore, because Pleaser’s quality has done nothing but decrease since I started dancing. And that was only almost a year and a half ago, I hate to see what their shoes are like in 5 years!

My main issue with Youtube is that it IS making me dance to silence. Once a video is flagged for copyright it removes my audio. This is my only concern. I just want to dance to the music I was dancing to. I am very upset that charlee wagner's winning performance and literally hundereds of other dancers, pole, aerial, or grounded can dance to it, but I cannot. I am upset that Skin is flagged, I am upset that Wicked Games is flagged. And then all of my videos are silent. Dance is music + personal emotion through the form of physical expression. If you take away the music, half or more than half of the message is lost!

If this was about regular dance. No prop, just dance. Dance like you see on "So You Think You Could Dance." Wouldn't anyone be bothered by the fact that she only talked about ONE kind of dancing ("sexy"?) The equivolent would be her writing a blog about taking a hip hop class and being disappointed and calling anyone who does dance in general silly for making them feel good about themselves. There's still ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, etc to go on and try through DANCE. But I mean, since there's a pole, I guess it's okay to get confused and only single out one general of POLE-dance.
No, but really. I wish I could post a photo of my hand.

That pretty much sums it up.
"I have a psychology degree so I can post my opinion of what I think of something without actually trying it."
Yep, you DO sound crazy! SMH, you didn't even bother to research if men did pole LOL. And for the record, while I might be slinky and sexy at work, the studio I go to rarely has a "grind the sh*t out of this pole" workshop. Or twerking. But, and here's the kicker—I hate twerking. Still a pole dancer. Also, pretty sure I'd die if I ever saw Oona Kivela or Marion Crampe grinding.

Anyone notice. Hands free titanic! Caught on tape! 2:49!
Also; I hate this song. So couldn't care less about the music video. But I like that there are pole dancers. DOING TITANIC. What up.

After my video was flagged I thought about disputing. Is only scary if you diSpUte. But I’m afraid of the law. So that might be why
-
Mm…I haven’t bothered trying to dispute because YouTube was scary and was like, “this isn’t a joke, we’ll flag your account of you dispute and we don’t agree with you. ” but I’ll try it now.

I'm 5'10" and my garage is only 8 1/2 feet tall. I struggled with this a lot more as a beginner, but I still sometimes kick my ceiling in aerial shoulder mounts and aerial inverts. My advice would be to get comfortable with your caterpillar climb and gemini climbs on both sides, if you do not also have the luxury of a spinning pole.

Marlo's superman variation that no one knows the name of. I meant to ask Marlo at Pole Expo, but being in a car accident 30m before her class kinda had me too shaken to remember.

From my experience the only guys who like the "one girl" type of clubs are stupid, and shallow assholes that you have to compliment over and over for and really work for their money.
I'm sure the club will have it's issues in the first year, and since he only hired that one type of girl there aren't going to be very many others applying that fit that description. So they will either have to expand or deal with only have 5 openers and a flaky nightshift. Their loss, but it's a start up, and most flop and get transfered ownership anyway.

Then I'd definitely like to sign up!

MemberSeptember 16, 2013 at 10:23 pm in reply to: No (former) strippers allowed in my studio competition 🙁Not only that but just because you strip in a club does NOT mean you are paid for it. I can't count the number of times I've gone to work and have left ALMOST OWING money. What if you are only a stripper or have only stripped a few days? Are you disqualified for making $100-$300 that ONE to THREE times?
I think that's silly. Just because one is paid does not make one a "professional". A professional is trained to do their job. Salon professionals go to school. Professional massage therapists go to school. These are TRAINED "professions". All of stripping is done through trial and error, or, just like that studio, by going to classes! There's legitimately no difference between a girl who might work at a club at night, and a girl who practices at night, when they come from the same studio.
Oopsey Daisey said it best; " the question shouldn't be whether or not someone can compete, just what category: professional or amateur." I should not be considering a "professional" just because the job economy is crap and I would rather take my shirt off than rely on government assistance and the tax dollars of others.

MemberSeptember 16, 2013 at 3:53 am in reply to: Installing X-Pole X-Pert in Garage – Ceiling issue?I pole in my garage and suggest using a piece of ply wood or really anything between your dome and the ceiling. I've had my x-pole up for a year and a half without issue, have taken it down several times, and you'd never be able to tell that there was a pole in my garage 🙂 I do recommend getting some sort of faux flooring underneath your pole, though. It's really dusty here in AZ and the dust that comes through the cracks of the garage floors gets all over the ground and then you end up with the dirtiest feet.
