Yes!!! We are having an acrobatic pole dancing extravaganza!!! Michelle Mynx’s Academy of Pole Dance will be presenting the Third Annual Acrobatic Pole Dancing Extravaganza on September 24th and 25th!!! $10 cover charge will go to the Sexual Assault Victims Unit!!! Yay!!! It will be at the Foxhole, which inside Atomic Cowboy. (Manchester and Sarah, one block from Manchester and Vandeventer…South St. Louis). EVERYONE is invited. Well, I watched this 3 times. I’m not too sure what’s going on here. Maybe you’re not ready for the hold? It doesn’t look like your legs are sticking to your pole when you go into the hold, so there’s some sliding. The placement of your legs look great in my opinion….I’m perplexed. I don’t have awesome advice cuz it looks like you got it pretty well. I dunno…looks good. lol

Well, I can’t even do this trick yet, but the way we’re taught, think of putting the pole between your boobs. It’s the same thing everyone has said, but in a different way. lol.

That’s cool. I don’t go on Mondays… I USED to go Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, but now it’s just Thursdays. Do you plan on dancing in the showcase in a few weeks?

In my class, we have 2 poles total. We learn a move on the main pole, with our teacher (the wonderful incredible Michelle Mynx) teaching us and spotting us, ect. and then we move to the second pole to work on it a few more times. That way, she can see everything we are doing. I do NOT believe that you can "spot" anyone that you’re more than a few feet away from. "Spotting" implies (in my mind) "if you fall, I got ya!" If you’re not near me, you wont catch me. I personally enjoy the one on one…there’s no.."wait…where’s her hand?…what’d she do with her foot?" Just my opinion….I don;t think it’s unsafe to have multiple poles, it just depends on the level and what you’re doing. I do not think people should try inverted moves without a spotter RIGHT there…but no one needs spotters for spins usually……

That’s awesome!! I just posted some pics too. The gemini and scorpio are only a little different. If you’re upside down, with the pole against your right side, and your left leg is hooked…its a gemini. If the pole is against your right side and your right leg is hooked, it’s a scorpio. We’ve started the shoulder mount….those suck. lol. I can’t do them yet.

Michelle used to do drop in classes, but now she actually has a waiting list for people who want to take her classes. I take classes @ the Michelle Mynx Academy of Pole Dance. You can google Michelle Mynx, or Gravity Plays Favorites, and find a ton of videos. She’s one of the best pole dancers in the country. We are super lucky to have her in StL. She’s even been invited to Jamaica to teach @ Dance Wicked for a Week, a week of pole dancing @ Hedonism II. You should go!! Castaway Travels has a great deal. Mary Ellen is n SV, and she’s the hostess (I guess that’s an accurate discription)! I’ve been dancing for a few years now, and LOVE it!! Have you gotten upside down yet??
