Jamilla Deville Pole Studio in Sydney invites drop ins and casual classes. Practice time and classes are scheduled on their website 🙂

My ceilings measured at 4.6 m (just over 15ft). I went with a Pussycat Pole. It’s bolted in both ends and reinforced through the centre. I couldn’t be happier with it! Everyone was worried it would flex but it’s as solid as the 3m 50s we use in class.

If you land on your knees from a back hook you can put your arms in position and straddle (invert v) up. It takes strength but is also great conditioning and will stop you jumping into a straddle when doing it from standing. You mentioned you are just starting to invert but it could be something to work towards

I’ve been toying with stage names for ages!
The pet.street combo would be Max Coalbrook which is more dirty porn star than pole dancer!
I do like taking just Brook though hhmm?
Thinking about other categories, Merlot is nice, I could be Melissa Merlot hahaha

In Australia, i get shorts and tops from Bloch. Can be pricey but always well made, good coverage and comfy. Supre is also good for shorts but always check the peekaboo factor!

I also bruise really easily, “like a peach” I’m told lol!
I increased my zinc intake which seemed to work (meant to aid with healing). If I’ve had an intensive practice I will also ice my legs when I get home and apply lots of arnica in the first few hours. This seems to lessen the severity to just a faint mark rather than a full on purple splotch.

I find it’s all in the butt and bottom leg. I have really squeeze my butt to open my hips and this helps with the back arch too.
I found I was always putting my bottom leg too far around the pole too which stopped me being able to push. If you imagine the pole as a prism instead of a cylinder for some reason I kept placing my foot on the side but now find it much easier to push away and grip if I place it on the front of the pole. Does that make sense?

After lots more research and many emails to the wonderful Leanne at Pussycat Pole, I am minutes away from placing my order 🙂

We hired a ladder today to do final accurate measurements and the ceiling came in at 4.6m. So excited to be getting my brass 45! All one piece, spinning and static! Will have to join In with the home videos when it arrives!

Thanks again for your help ladies!

Thanks everyone! Seems no one talks about them much cause they have little to no issues. Great news!
