Veena is that an exercise that will improve strength for aerial inverts also?

I get where your coming from journey, however alot of people’s profiles will say whether they are a beginner or professional. It’s think nice to avoid the hierarchical thinking that can comes with giving everyone titles. I like that we are all equals. Makes it easier for new people as well, could possibly be intimidating otherwise?

To be honest I thought the bikini line would be waay more painful than legs! I had a hollywood wax once before and it was so so so painful, I’ve never done it again! For wnt of a better phrase, I need to grow some balls! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif

I’m asking Santa for an epilator – hopefully the Braun wet and dry one, its not cheap, but I really need a solution as shaving is just making my leg hair so thick and its too light to ever be lasered. I am scared that I won’t use it because it will be too painful, but I’m sure it will be worth perservering!

That does look pretty, especially when done so slowly like tracee!

Yeah the tuck invert is really hard because you dont have the power of your legs swinging to bring your bum off the pole. I think you need a lot of ab strength, this is why it’s a good move to practise to make sure you’re getting into inverts properly. So maybe try some more ab workouts? And it can’t be a bad thing if you keep practising it. I’m working on aerial inverts, so it’s kind of the same thing! (I feel your pain!)

Glitterhips, that sounds like a really good idea in terms of getting used to the move. There isn’t so much the fear of falling and getting excruciatingly painful pole burn on the way down! Do you happen to have a video of you walking into it?

Thanks Amyxshi! That makes a lot of sense. I do it with my right arm in the past as I had minor surgery on my left arm and it can still be quite painful. Unfortunately I have neither a good back arch or a long torso, which might explain why its so difficult for me! I’ll try turning out the front leg and arching more and see how I get on. WIll post a vid if I record anything worth posting!

Yeah, thanks I think that is the one, just didn’t recognise it with the bent knee! Does anyone have any tips for getting into this move? Karol Helms does it at 3:15 here, but of course she makes everything look easy!!

I have my pole on carpet too, I leave it up for months at a time and no problems at all! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I generally leave my pole up all the time. The carpet is probably 2 years old. Took the pole down the other day as we weren’t sure if the landlord was coming over. I was surprised at how deep the indent was. I’ll be really surprised if that ever comes out. I think if I keep it in the same place, at least there’ll only be one pole hole rather then many.

For those thinking of doing laser, the darker your hair is the better it will work, I had it before in a different place and it didn’t make a difference as my hair is too light. Just thought I’d let you know as its not cheap! Im thinking of getting an epilator – are they good? I take it they’re only for use on legs though?

Yeah im also really surprised to hear you had problems with the holes, ive never had that problem ever with my xpole! It takes me all of 5 seconds to switch it to and from spinny, and ridiculously easy to put up and take down singlehandedly (although I don’t take the xjoints apart – just like Mommabear). The base leaves a small ring in the carpet so I know where to put it. Ceiling hasn’t fallen down yet, haha https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
Maybe you should make sure it was real!

In terms of grippiness, I bought one of those chalky/ball things a while ago. It only cost me like £2.50 so very cheap, works quite well, probably not as good as mighty grip but worth a try if you’re on a budget! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
