I did the yogini today actually for the first time. Im pretty short too -5’3" is being generous! I find thing like the ballerina and allegra difficult i think sure to the fact that you have to arch the body around the pole, I actually didnt find the yogini to be so bad in the respect, as long as I squeeze with my arm and get an arch with the legs to make my hip puch against the pole it seems to be okay. ALthough I’ve only tried it once as I’m too sore to try again, lol!
I’m sure you’ll get it glitter https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif -
I’m not sure about the dizzy thing but when I first got my pole I was so nervous in front of him! I’d spent a month hyping meself up (and him) about getting a pole and how many videos I’d watched. Then when I got it, ok I couldn’t do anything and you can so it’s not the same, but when I did learn stuff, I was embarrassed of him watching! My pole’s in the middle of the sitting room so that made things difficult!!
After a while he became uninterested anyway, and I started to care less and less.. Now, I could be in nice underwear sexy dancing with my Pleaser’s on and he won’t look up from his iPad https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif You’ll get used to it, just keep going and ignore him https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif I was planning on preparing a routine to show my boyfriend when I felt confident but in the end that would have been too much stress, so I just let it happen organically and now it’s not an issue. Don’t worry you’ll get over it soon i’m sure https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I decorated mine too lol! Only lasted a day though as I wanted to dance. And I was kind of worried about the lights short cicuiting and giving me an electric shock.. Lol not sure if that’s possible!! Anyway, love your pole! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Do you find yourself sliding off? I know that the biggest difference for me between home and studio pole is that my home one is so much slippier. I don’t know why but it is! I can do spins but anything else I often need grip for which leaves my hands dry and sore https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif I’m sure with practise you’ll be fine. I’m presuming you can do these things in the studio?

There are poles second hand on gumtree and craigslist and the likes, if you can somehow verify its real, hten you could go for one of those, some of them are new and unwanted gifts. (Yes, there are people out there who don’t want poles!?!) And if you have a look around and enquire on facebook there tends to be people or studios selling xpoles, and that way you know they’re trustworthy. Good luck finding a pole! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Hi Frosty, I’m in Dublin. I can vouch for Veena’s lessons on this website, that’s how I learned. There’s loads of stuff to learn before inverts https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Congratulations on your twins! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif And congrats on getting back in inverts yay! Yeah its great that you’re listening to your body, that’s the best thing to do I guess. Some people have an idea that pregnancy = no exercise. Thats a very outdated view I suppose. And btw the vid of you poling 20 wks preg is lovely!!

Go you Lily. KT Coates excercised thorughout her pregnancy, including teaching pole dancing, she performed at 4mths pregnant too. She had a healthy pregnancy too. Ok yeah I can understand no crazy moves, but maybe Christina Applegates got the right idea https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif LOL!

And as far as the intimadation goes… once I got my pole up I couldnt even go near it. Stuff that looked easy on youtube now becomes impossible! But stick with it and you’ll have a great time https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Make sure to get some pics and videos up too! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I don’t think I got an order tracking number until my pole was dispatched, maybe thats why you haven’t gotten one yet? If you’re not sure, you could email or call the place you ordered it from, I’m sure they’re used to having excited pole people calling up all the time! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Congrats on the new pole riddlebox!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Well I prefer 45mm, I have 50mm chrome at the moment and I used 45mm chrome at pole class, much easier to grip and I dont find it any harder to grip with my legs. Would love a 45mm TG, but im looking for a second hand pole, and everyone has chrome! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif so will probably end up with chrome again, may not be a bad thing though as I still like (have never tried TG)
