Yes, I agree… I like Kino Yoga, and BeachYogaGirl… below you can see some of us participating in their November yoga challenge..

I also agree that having some class instruction is super beneficial I started yoga recently by going to free yoga classes at Lulu Lemon. Their retail stores usually host yoga before opening on Sunday. It’s really nice and a different local studio hosts each month. It’s great because you get exposed to so many teachers and styles. It’s funny because there is this yoga community that goes to these classes and then you learn about all these other yoga events. I went to yoga in these beautiful gardens a few times, and yoga in the art museum!! It’s been a great experience.

Ha, well you captured most of the important stuff. 🙂

What I did (maybe this is cheating?!) I didn’t sink into it. I went into cobra with my chest against the wall THEN put my palms on the wall and slid them up. If I started with my hands up it was stretching my shoulders and back at the same time and it was just too much. 🙂 one thing at a time for me!

    Here is day 9!

I took pictures with my ipad because it’s easier to stand up.., but man is it bad quality… especially in low light… And I was using the front cam.. All around not a great mix. Lesson learned.

Thanks Shoog! I want to try and keep up with more inspired/fun backgrounds but it’s freezing here… So everyone might just get a tour of different rooms in my house. 🙂

I haven’t tried it yet but I’m sure today will be hard. The second way beachyogagirl does it with her hands more perpendicular to the wall might be an option for me. It’s usually my shoulders that hold me up! Ha, easier said than done.

Check out kinoyoga and beachyogagirl. They both demo each pose the night before.

Kino usually does a more advanced version… Hers is here:

Beachyogagirl does the version I mostly do. She hasn’t posted hers yet but it’ll be here…

You shouldn’t need Instagram to view them 🙂

Hi from Disney beautiful ladies! I’ll be playing along on the November challenge on Instagram if anyone wants to play along. It’s all about gratitude this month, so I feel like that could be really benifital just to remind me how truly blessed I am. 🙂

Lucca, I did something similar… I was using my wide doorway for support and i missed the doorframe with my foot and down I came… but don’t worry I got the doorframe with my butt. Ouch!

Good point Lucca, I hadn’t thought of it like that.

I do always TRY to do it on both sides… it doesn’t always work that way though. I’m not really training things over and over again at this point so I don’t really feel like I’m prone to those repetitive task injuries… but that’s silly, and I guess now is the time to do it, when I’m in the early stages.

I never really thought about things like this until I started pole but I always carry my purse on the same shoulder (left) and really have a lot of habits like that that are very one sided… it honestly makes me not feel so bad about climbing one way. 🙂 But maybe I’ll try and mix it up a little

I always felt good saying the part about loving and accepting myself. It just helped on a lot of levels.

Hey, Lucca, I wrote my answer before I saw your reply!

but I’ve dabbled in EFT as well… and for a fear/anxiety… I was going to recommend it but I’m not an expert. I did it a while and it lessened my fear to a mild quirk… I probably should look into it again for some other things!

    Hugs, That sounds very traumatic.

We all are hesitant about some things on the pole, all of us have positions where we feel very vulnerable and afraid… but your fear is related to an experience, it may be something you need to work through with a therapist (the kind is up to you…psychologist, hypo, eft, I’m sure someone else has a recommendation).

I’m not really sure you you mean about “go back and invert” vs “forward” all inverting kind of seems like going back to me… Do you mean you’re ok dropping back from CKR is ok? But basic invert isn’t?Maybe practicing inverts from laying on the floor would help?

I still think maybe some counseling could help. I’m happy you are doing ok otherwise!
