I LOVE a sexy challenge for Feb too.
Meanwhile ladies let’s brainstorm 2 moves to stick in there so Veena knows what to record. I’m ok with the elbow stand in general if no one can come up with something else… I’m not sure how everyone else feels. I agree it’s not like an easy move… But I think if we are going for fundamentals, it’s a nice one. But I’m also ok with switching it out. Having some non spins is just a nice option. For some people spins are more challenging then like headstands/handstands/elbowstands… I think it just depends on your background. I
I guess we need to decide if we are going to brand it as a beginner challenge or a fundamentals challenge? Will many actual beginners participate in a challenge, will more advanced polers want to participate in a beginner challenge? Or are we more likely to attract people of all levels to a fundamentals challenge? I don’t know.
Whatever you guys decide is great.
And keep brainstorming a hashtag!

I have no problem making the graphic. Tomorrow is my last day of work until after the New Year so I’ll have time.
I like the idea of incorporating SV too.
Can we have people @studioveena? (as well as the other hosts TBD)… and maybe the hashtag have something to do with SV but its unique.
like #SVpolebasics or something involving new year? Im just brainstorming… other words can be essentials, fundamentals… etc.
If you get the all recorded Veena, do you think you’ll be able to post each one the night before? 🙂

And if you come up with a 1-31 for Jan I can make a cute instagramable square with the names… If you want. Or you can.
Kind of like I did here… https://www.studioveena.com/photos/view_photo/548095df-8074-4e84-994f-60d30a9aa0eb
Or you can do it. It was easy. 🙂

Great thread!
You’ll see me here soon (I hope) I meant to warm up and take pics today but it just didn’t happen. I’m weary and loopy from… well, Monday.
I’ve definately been slacking in the stretching department and I lost progress for sure. Can’t wait to get back on track

Ditto what the other girls said…
I think I did the math before and a 5mm diameter difference is like .75 or 8 inches in circumstance. So it’s a decent amount bigger. Can you feel the difference in your hands?

MemberDecember 14, 2014 at 6:15 pm in reply to: December Yoga Challenge #justbepresentDay 14. This was a first for me. Love how this challenge pushes me to try new things.
I was able to stay up for a little bit. The wider my knees were the more I could stay up. Looks like most people had there knees actually on their arms but that kind of hurt the back of my arms 😛
I’m including 2 pics. The 2nd is the one I didn’t post on IG cause I realized my knees were too wide. I was just like chilling there smiling. You can see when I try to put my knees more on my arms there are much less smiles.

I got an app a while back that saves Insta Vids to your phone for this very reason. But I actually just forgot about it until now! Oh man, I’m going to have folders and folders of to-do videos 😛

Ok, just to keep blowing up this thread…
the free classes are also a nice place to meet people and make friends. It took me a while, because I was really quiet at first, but one girl started talking to me… now a bunch of us get tea and coffee afterwards. We could not be more different… and the age range is really big, but I know you were struggling with friendships and I felt like the yoga classes were really beneficially for me physically, mentally and also socially.

“Every week, lululemon stores and showrooms push their products aside, unroll yoga mats and turn their spaces into instant yoga studios. Classes are complimentary and lead by instructors from local studios in your community. Find your local store info here: http://www.lululemon.com/stores/“

Lulu Lemon has free yoga classes! Athleta may too.
Lulu’s classes are great. A different studio hosts each month so you get exposed to a lot of different teachers and styles. Its not great for consistency but its great for variety!
