I was going to a studio when I started but the things that Veena teaches in her beginner lessons were much the same sort of things I started on at the studio. I took a special offer she was doing and bought the lessons to compliment my studio work and there’s really something to be said for being able to watch things from various different views and rewind and replay as many times as you need. A sound investment. Get them if you can. Mostly, relax and enjoy! x

Thanks all, and for the link WebJunk (I should really learn to search before asking a question!). From all this I’ve come to the decision and gone for a webcam. It’s nothing fancy and very cheap but I think is better than my ipad and phone. Better get recording now then!! 😉

Oh wow! Panic then!!!! Lol.
Only joking, how about changing the routine. -
Is it too late to change the routine? Put some other stuff in that you’re completely comfortable with instead. Failing that would a fun session with a pole buddy help you to practice the old stuff, take the pressure off, and ease things to get you back into it?

Ab brill, I did have a look and they’re quite pricey but def an option, thanks

Ah yes, that’s a great idea too. Thanks Veena. I love the lessons and they compliment my studio work – I’m just trying to find the most time efficient way for me to use them .

Aha! The search does work doesn’t it. Thanks for that – that’s sorted it out for me. I do use a PC but I just wanted to get to a particular lesson quickly, without loads of scrolling. That’s perfect though. Search!!!! lol

Yeh that’s what I’ve been doing hun but there are so many of them lol. It’s especially time consuming if you don’t know what category it would fall into!

Love love love it! Looking good girl! Love the shake of the booty when you’re cleaning the pole down. I need a top like that too – where did you get it?
With the climb, was the pole slippy because you’d just cleaned it? Maybe a little bit of grip aid would help – I usually pop a bit on my shins before starting a session so even if the pole is slippy your legs shouldn’t be.
Well done on sharing. Look forward to seeing more 🙂

EEEEEK!!! My new REAL X-Pole is here. Now I’m happy!

It’s funny isn’t it, when you look at people’s videos it looks like they have loads of space, however in real life most of us have the same issues with space. I’d still love to have my pole in it’s own room but until then the front room will be just fine.

MemberAugust 20, 2014 at 8:44 am in reply to: yea…. got my pole but i dont see anyone using the gloves?I guess like everyone else says it depends on how sweaty your hands get. I use Dry Hands when I’m doing something that requires some real strong grip (practicing new moves etc) but I try where possible not to use it. I don’t use gloves though. I don’t want to end up relying on something and I think training with gloves you do run that risk.

All sorted, managed to get it apart in the end. I didn’t want to damage it in the process because it’s going back for a refund but thanks for the suggestion.

Funny how you skim read things and they read correctly isn’t it. There’s great big gaps in the actual main text too (where the word x-pole fits just lovely funnily enough!). Well I’ll have a nice shiny real x-pole soon and I’m sure the instructions will read better when that arrives lol

Ooh good thread! I’m excited about the pole photo shoot at our studio at the end of September. Got a few moves to nail before then but I can’t wait. Enjoy the workshop 🙂

Omg I didn’t even see that!! I feel like I real fool after all of this. It’s so easy though – these people are very clever.

What a relief – I’ve spoken to X-Pole UK today and they have been amazing. Very understanding and given me great advice and support in tackling this. Great customer service. I should’ve gone to them in the first place!

Thank you, I will do. I have just looked back and it wasn’t listed as an x pole, but it came with an x pole dvd so this in itself implies it I think. I’ll call tomorrow x

Oh nooooooo, now I could actually cry!!!! Guess what……… Yes, fake pole in my house 😥

I would suggest the arm strength too. The first push is always the easy bit, it’s dragging yourself the rest of the way that’s the hard bit. Work on your arm strength and then even if you lose your leg position you can still hang on to correct yourself. Also, check your leg position. My biggest hurdle when learning was that the pole would end up between my upper thighs and then I was too close to the pole to even try to push up again. I had to consciously push my backside back away from the pole and get my knees back around the pole before I could push up on to the next one. Now it’s ingrained in my brain but it was something I had to make a conscious effort to correct for quite a while.

And k8milly5299 I’m in Hereford. Where are you? (I’m nosey too 😉)

Right, I’m on it! The hold with just your legs (having taken hands off from the basic invert) is much more difficult and painful than it looks so I’ll practice that a bit and I’ll take a look at the lessons, including the combos, thanks Veena.
