Rhode Island! Live in Connecticut for a few years but came back to little Rhody ☺ï¸

Im working on this too!! I make progress with consistency and lots of heat! Maybe we can start a progress thread for accountability?

I went back to school at 27 and was able to teach a few hours a week and get some freestyle therapy in as well the first year. My second year I hardly had time for anything with thesis and kinda pushed pole onto the back burner until recently. It’s definitely tough to come back but muscle memory is great! I would put education first if it will help you create the career of your dreams. Unless you are looking to be a pro poler or compete or open a studio, I’d say 10-15 hours of exercise a week are fantastic! I don’t even have time for that now working full time and running a business.

@dustbunny I video myself on my iPhone and then take screen shots to get almost ALL of my photos lol so I’m not constantly bugging people to take pics!! ☺ï¸â˜ºï¸

I love the dancey/balletic contemporary side of pole but still bust out my heels once in a while! 😉

I have all 3! I buy all my competition outfits from them. The first one I wore under my lyracle dress in APC for extra coverage. The second one I just wore for Super Shag. I love them all, the girls stay in place and aren’t over exposed!

I understand where you are coming from completely and feel the same way. My boyfriend was supposed to go a few weeks ago and I basically had a nervous breakdown envisioning all the things that could possibly happen. His friend was home for a weekend from the military and wanted to go out with his friend’s to celebrate. Now I have been to clubs with him and groups of friends and have seen what has gone on and am definitely not comfortable with it. I talked to him about it (post nervous breakdown!) And he told me I should have just said my concerns instead of getting worked up about it! He was only going to make his friend happy and see him obviously, but because I was uncomfortable he did not go. My lesson learned is to just talk it out! And yes Im sure all my boyfriends friends all think hes “whipped” and im the prude pole dancer lol. But he didn’t go and that’s all I care!! 🙂 Talk it out with him hun!

Here's my hot mess of a Dramatic routine. Floor was super slippery and made me have to instantly nix most of my choreography so it was basically a freestyle in panic mode.

And here's Championship Level 3, dancing needs to be much stronger but overall I'm not compleatly dissapointed in it.

Yup! That’s the one I teach instead!
-
The wrist seat straddle, I refuse to teach it because I’ve seen far to much…er…slippage in the crotch area of the shorts, even when the pole is placed more on the glute!! Also not a fan of the Genie.

Wow this is going to be a hard one for me because I’m so hard on myself and am so negative and nit picky on my dancing. But here it goes…
1.) I do love my eyes, they are a nice shape and an interesting blend of brown and green
2.) I love my boobs even though they get in the way sometimes!
3.) I love my booty, its getting tighter and higher by the day! Yay!And for pole…
1.) I love how dancing has made it possible for me to make balletic lines and poses.
2.) I love how I have developed much more musicality the past 2 years.
3.) Probably the biggest deal for me….I love how I have stopped comparing myself to every awesome video I watch, wishing I could move like someone else. My dance is my dance and if no one likes it, I frankly don’t give a crap any more!!!! 🙂 -
I’m excited too, just have to hope I can get my routines polished enough!

I wear a size 8 in lululemon and a M in bad kitty if that helps 🙂

Sprained my intercostal muscles on my right side slipping out of a twisted ballerina. It was the worst pain I ever have felt in my life, like I was being stabbed in the side. There was popping and grinding sounds too. It was so bad I went to the hospitol but they refused to xray me because I had no health insurance so I still don’t know if anything was broken. I could hardly get out of bed for three weeks 🙁
And most recently(December) I bashed my foot into my coffee table just doing a simple spin and fractured it, but it healed pretty quick and was just annoying. …word to the wise, move furniture when poling! -
Oooo this should be fun, now to find a really wierd fun prop!

I think its funny how the 3 pictures of “her” look nothing alike and are clearly 3 different girls! And clearly no one has ever seen her perform or teach, so I doubt InStyle is giving her awards lol. InStyle should give studioveena an award 🙂

Phoenix Kazree did almost the same thing at pole art but with the bottom leg still on the pole. I forgot what she called it, elbow hook split I think??
-
I use that app too! I just put my aerial classes and pole time under gymnastics general, it seems to be close 🙂
-
Yup, and you can watch many of them on Netflix free too ! 🙂

First position was amazing! It was great to see ballet being more mainstream! Another good one is Ballerina, and Etoiles:Stars of the Paris Opera Ballet (it’s in French with English subtitles) http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0000AZT67/ref=redir_mdp_mobile

I had a co worker comliment my back muscles once and was like "oh wow I can never see them so cool!" One time someone was like "wow look at that bruise thats enormous!" and I was like "yup…that's from working my butt off on the Marion Amber" https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
