TropicalVerticalThis was great. Thanks Veena.
I have a huge fear that if I stop poling for a week or more everything will stop working and I will lose my strength, my moves, my flow, stuff will start hurting again blah blah. Am telling myself that doing vinyasa class 3x week will actually probably make me stronger, and stopping daily pole tricking will make it hurt less, not more.
VeenaTropical. It's been over 2 years since I've poled for more than a week here and there! I've managed to avoid common pole related injuries and even though I have to take about 2 sessions to condition myself back to being able to dance (like remember some tricks I new lol) as I was before I stopped, maintaining my strength through other forms of exercise has been great! If you maintain your strength while off the pole you won't have to take a bunch of time to build back up when you start again! When I do go back to the pole I feel happy and I enjoy myself, I go though periods of time when I learn new stuff, then I move on. When I felt pressured to always be the "pole dancer" I lost my joy and it became a chore. I've discovered I could be happy without a pole, not words I EVER thought I could say, EVER! I love my hooping, yoga, handstands and too! You've got natural flow and movement, that doesn't go away!
PoleAdventuresThanks a lot Veena!!! I'm very frustrated because I work on different things like the pole sit and i see no progress. Nothing seems to be working at the moment. I feel i get stronger and I can hold longer and longer, but thats not the thing I want right now :( Now I listened to your video and decided to take a break for one or twoo weeks and try to work on floorwork, handstand, flexibility and other thing away from the pole. Do you think thats a good idea for me?
VeenaCan I asked what isn't working as far as pole sit? If the that's a matter of technique not strength. Can you post a video for me to see, I could help you better. Anytime you begin to become frustrated with something it can be nice to step back and work on something new, like flexibility and handstands. Both of these things will help with pole!!
PoleAdventuresI really don't know. I watched your video a few times. I can't hold with my thights. I always slip down when I move down my hip to a site. Where should I post the video? In the normal Home section?
Stacia0330Perfect timing for this subject--I'm about to go back to belly dance and will have to reduce the amount of time I have to pole. This makes me feel better about it :)
“Veena's lessons helped me advance very rapidly at a point where I became stuck with my at-home training. I recommend SV to any pole dancer at any level. The lessons are spectacular and the online community is positively supportive. ♥”
