Has anyone had trigger finger surgery? I have it in my dominant hand ring finger. It came on relatively fast, and now the doc is talking surgery. I’m terrified I won’t be able to pole after. I’m not a ‘spring chicken’ any more, so I know healing won’t be like when I was in my younger days. Does any one have advice or experience? Thanks.

I have not had it, but I have worked for orthopedic surgeons over the past ten years who have performed it regularly. I am the person who usually handles any bandaging application and removal/sutures/questions/concerns. I can tell you that most people fully recover and are happy they had it done. The important factors are to know your surgeon and his or her reputation and to take care of it postoperatively. Elevate, ice, rest, and hand exercises. Hope that helps!
