Pole clothes for competitions

akaneneko
Hello everyone!
I wanted to know if there is a good place to buy clothes for pole fitness competitions. I know many places, such as Mika Wear and Bad kitty, but they don't seem to have anything that would "stand out" a little for a competition. I don't need something too fancy, but it would be fun to wear something more professional and I was wondering if people had ideas as to where I could be looking.
Thank you for your help! :)

You can check out Kelly Magilia Couture. She makes some amazing things to perform in.
I know for me, I make all my own stuff. I usually buy some prefab stuff and decorate it myself. I also try dance stores as well.

I think it would also depend on what you are looking for. Maybe start with a look or concept first then look for designers who can custom make for you based on some of the things that are pole-specific ( like a wide crotch on the bottoms, no boob slips on the top etc). I like to troll etsy.com with search terms for things I want ( eg monikini), look at the price-point and then have a chat with the vendor to see if they will custom make something for me.
Kelly's work is gorgeous BTW but a bit of an investment. I would love to have a reason & the budget to own something with her name on it someday.

Yes, try searching Etsy and Ebay, you can find some great stuff. Check dancewear stores too. This is a good one online:

On that same note, you can often find some great stuff at adult novelty stores, but you have to be careful as a lot of that stuff isn't designed to prevent wardrobe malfunction (quite the opposite, actually...) I found a super cute black sequined monokini at Lover's Lane for my first performance and just wore plain black boyshorts over it to prevent any flashing.
There's always also buying basic tops and bottoms from a place you like (ie Mika) and jazzing them up yourself. Visit a crafting store and they have tons of ribbons, flowers, crystals, embellishments, shiny fabric, anything you could ever imagine, seriously. Get a hot glue gun and get to work!! I made an awesome top like this once.

Yeah blinging out or customising a set from BK, Mika etc is another option. Swimsuit sets are another good base since they're already lined and have the wide crotch gusset that's lined.

Theres a brand by Kristin Novasad called Bling it On. She does alot of the tops and bottoms and puts the swarowski crystals on them. She does really awesome work!

This is an abstract idea but I found this bathing suit the other day and I thought it looked perfect for a unique competition piece. It's a little pricey but it has all the POC showing and it's sexay!

That one piece ^ is freakin' gorge - and that is not expensive for a suit like that! Trust me, I'm a total swimwear addict and $86 for that suit is a steal. And you will def stand out wearing that thing on stage!

Ask aroud your studio and see if anybody sews. I sew and take a lot of basic swimwear and workout gear and help the girls in my studio with alterations, bling, embellishing etc. I do it for fun . Those of us that sew are always looking for a creative project. Kellie Maglia's creations are simply breathtaking. I saw them at PoleCon. But as noted they are investment pieces. You can consider a good base piece or two and invest in that , and build variations from there. Swimwear is on sale now, you should be able to find some really cute things you can build from .
