It was at the National Aerial Pole Art Championships that i witnessed Philip Deal take the stage and dance "His" story of being a survivor of sexual abuse. His honesty and heartfelt performance touched me deeply. Since that performance Philip has created Pole for the 1 in 6 and is asking his fellow friends in the poling community to make a pole dance video to help bring awareness, stop the abuse of male children and help men who have been victimized. Personally when i made the choice to get involved and create a video i was at the begining stages of working on it with my dear friend Roy Green who passed away only 6 weeks ago and honestly was feeling such sadness that i was having a difficult time even filming without crying(which forgive the lack of "pole tricks",not a strong feeling day for me) thinking maybe i should just shelf this project knowing it would lack Roby's creative "Magic". But i did push through and finished it because i know it would have made him happy ♥♥♥:) Please find "Pole for the 1 in 6 on fb and "Like"the page. And even better get involved and make a pole dance video to post:))

Elektra Vallens - Thanks for this. I tried to link Philip's 1 in 6 page to a discussion thread on this page in the hopes of getting some more videos up there, but I didn't get any takers - perhaps your performance will get more people interested. For those of you who don't know, this project is looking for people to post videos of themselves on pole as a show of support in the fight against sexual abuse of men and boys. Here's the link: http://www.facebook.com/poleforthe1...

ThatGirl99 - It's creative people who always have the courage to face the difficult topics and address them without fear. The shame and guilt belongs to the abusers, and there can NEVER be enough support to child victims of any type of abuse. i fully support and admire your grace and courage in the face of your own loss. My condolences and thank you for posting this. Its just beautiful
