New Years Resolutions! Here are some tips to help make your 2009 GREAT!
1. Be specific -“I want to be a better pole dancer” Is a bit too general. Listing exactly what it is that you want to work on will help you focus.
2. Break it down – It’s better to have several small obtainable goals leading up to your larger goals.
3. Track your progress – Being able to go back and look at how far you have come can be a great motivator. Try using methods like, videotaping, pictures or keeping a logbook.
4. Give yourself some motivation – Putting a picture up of your favorite pole move or hanging that swimming suit up we all desperately want to fit into by summer! Just make sure it’s some place you will see it daily.
5. Use the buddy system - Find a friend who can help you stay on track. Someone who would be willing to say, “Hey did you do your work out today?” Or better yet post your resolutions on the Studio Veena forum, and then we could all support each other!
6. Reward yourself – Some goals like losing weight or gaining flexibility can’t give us the instant gratification we all love so much. That’s when rewarding your self with something special can really help. Try getting a massage or buying those new stilettos you’ve been eying, once you reach a halfway point.
These tips can work for anything, from get that difficult pole dancing combo to saving money….. to buy the shiny new X-pole.
