Cottage cheese ceilings help!
I just got my X Pole sport :)!! I have cottage cheese ceilings, and it is making it difficult to stay vertical and steady, it is falling over when I spin. I need help!! Anyone else know what to do? Thank you!!!!<33
I have an xpert and a popcorn ceiling (I'm pretty sure thats the same as a cottage cheese ceiling) and I just make sure to tighten it well enough. You may need to tighten it more than you think you would and also make sure the pole is completely level or it will fall.
Okie thanks :) I'm going to make sure it's completely level<3
you're welcome :D hope it works for ya!! magnetized levels are the best to use because they stick to the pole and you can just push it around instead of having to hold it up. Its better to have the pole a little too tight than a little too loose.
The person that helped me put my pole up for the first time sanded the popcorn so it is a smooth surface. It's barely noticeable when the pole is down, but I can see it and that way I know exactly the right spot when I put it back up. I hate cottage cheese ceilings but unfortunately it's pretty far down on the list of home improvements for now : ) .
Does your pole ruin the ceiling? My WHOLE HOUSE has these popcorn/cottage cheese ceilings so I pole in the garage and if this didn't ruin the ceilings I would love to pole in the climate-controlled house
The pole won't ruin the ceiling at all. My friend has this kind of ceiling and we put poles up all the time at her house. Just make sure it's level and that it's tightened all the way. Be sure you are under the beam. The biggest challenge I have found with these ceilings is that it seems like you get a false reading a lot so be extra careful and double check with your stud finder.
Really?! Interesting...that makes me excited! I would imagine putting my pole up would leave a ring of flat, untextured ceiling where the pole was.
That said, when I put my xpole up on popcorn I did see a few little pieces flake off when I took it down, but you would have to know where the pole was and go look up close to see that it was there.
