- I Am Over 18

100 Day Challenge New Edition??

Porshka -

Help me!!!  I came across a thread where people did a 100 day challenge...anyone want to do a new one?

It seems like no matter what I try, I cannot get out of this terrible rut of eating crap, drinking beer after work and skipping workouts and stretching CONSTANTLY.  Oh, did I mention sleeping too late while at the same time getting no rest, feeling dehydrated constantly and ugh...smoking?

My husband is no help, this lifestyle suits him just fine and I have no poling/fitness friends whatsoever.  I am just trapped in this cycle of terrible habits and then being furious with myself.  I have been poling for almost a year and I still suck!  I spent all this money on DVDs that I never use...I am just so frustrated and starting to feel quite desperate.

Anyway, I am not trying to wallow, but I thought I would reach out and see if anyone else is going through something similar, or at least would be interested in doing a 100-day challenge with me?  Or at least just say something to motivate me?  I know I sound whiney and pathetic, but...

When I can get into a good groove I can be very disciplined, but I just can't seem to get it togther...Thoughts?

What kind of challenge do you have in mind? I am always up for a new pole friend. This place is amazingly supportive, you've came to the right place.

Thank you!  There is a post where members sort of set their own rules initially and then just check in weekly with their progress.  For me, it would probably consist of pole/flexibility progress, some weightloss (not a major concern for me but I would like to drop 15 lbs) and healthy living.  For me, that would include mostly not drinking or smoking.  If I'm not drinking, I pretty much eat very healthily - I tend to crave fruits and vegetables.  Mostly workout stuff for me.  I guess setting goals and then working on meeting them?

This is a great idea! I've been quite desperate about getting better at pole lately. I just rounded 1 year and I also feel like I still suck. Can others join in? :D

Question...what is a good way to make goals for pole improvement?  Like, getting stronger or nailing a trick?  Because everyone will progress differently, how do you set a time-line?  Also, how often does everyone work on their pole?

You are not alone. I am like that too. I am overweight and despite the fact that I know I have to lose weight and want to and need to I just cant seem to stick to something long enough. My husband loves to eat and the lazy lifestyle so yeah I can sooo understand what you are goin through.

I took a pole lessons like 3 years ago and love it but I dont have time to go to class so I invested in my own pole. I figured I would like to self teach myself with veena online but because I am overweight and no flexibility whatsoever I have to start from scratch and aim to progress slowly.

I am keen on this 100 day challenge. I am going to phuket in october, a bikini body would be timely haha.

I usually like to set goals monthly. ( and continue the goals I dont reach the month after)

I think this months,it is improvement of strenght, flexibilty and the star. I have learned to grip with my knee pit so far, but my foot slides right of.

I've lost 75lbs over 2 years and I'm still trying to stay fit and lose more weight, I pole about 3 times a week and jog 4 times a week but i would like to be more focus on this art that i am interested in . . . . I would love to do the 100 day challenge I think it'll me with setting goals . . .

My studio is doing a 90 Day challenge currently and I'm on day 17 with that. We have to focus on health eating, working out regularly, and getting to the studio three times a week for a class (open pole doesn't count). I need to get more fit and I'm starting Insanity on June 4th with my boyfriend. Still, I'd love to extend the challenge and do something with you guys too.

I'll try to have some goals worked out by tomorrow.

Oh this sounds like an exciting challenge!

I remember joining a challenge similar to this but it was hula hooping for 30 minutes each day for 30 days. You had to log in the site daily and write how long you hooped for each day, it kept me motivated seeing everyone daily comments.

I shall have to give it some thought this evening ...for tomorrow is Friday!! (:

dancing in the gray - Love this!

My goals are:

Lose 10 lbs
Keep going to pole class 2x a week
Adding in one day of pole at home, working on things that need pefection, plus 2 days of yoga/pilates at the gym

I would also like to have a controlled invert (being able to tilt my hips up to the pole and keeping my arms and shoulders engaged instead of dropping)
Better wonderwoman/spin down combo
2 handed layout (having trouble since my arms are short)
And reverse grab

@Porshka everything you put in your first post relates to me exactly! Def up for a challenge, though I might have to make smaller goals than 100days (I'm far too impatient!) the big thing for me is splits progress but I'll be thinking up some more specific goals ready for tomorrow...

on May 17, 2012 from , -
Kaylie - This is great! I kinda need to do it monthly but I am in for the entire 100!! I want to try 4 cardios... 3 yoga..3 pole per week! No starchy carbs after noon! Every month I will work on something new on the pole and add on to those in the following months!!!

Good morning ladies!  My 100-day goals are:

Be able to do:

10 pull-ups

5 chin-ups

front splits on both sides

Bracket hold and pole sit

Improve my center splits by half their distance,

Lose 16 pounds

But I am also going to set smaller goals.  For example, for the next 20 days my goals will be to begin the splits in six weeks program, get 8 hours of sleep per night drink enoughf water (750 ml X 4 should be enought?) and do my workouts before I go to work, instead of after.

I can't wait to read everyone else's progress!  Good luck everyone!

on May 18, 2012 from , Midwest -
Porshka -

Wait, wait...I have to change a few of these.  I won't be able to do all my workouts before work, so I am just setting myself up for failure...I just will make sure I do upper body (pole and callesthenics) four times per week and for the next 28 days I am going Brazil Butt Lift, so that is pretty much lower body.  Also, I will expand from 20 to 28 days to make it even.

I am going to keep a journal and just check in here 1x per week - I suppose on Fridays.

Keep up with my flexy challenge each friday! (I have skipped the last two:()

Get my side split

Learn at least two new tricks a month,

Perfecting the ones I know.

Pole at least twice a week

Attend 6 pole classes in the studio

Strength and flexibility training, 3 days a week each.

Eat fresh and natural as much as humanly possible (there will be days, given my schedule, I know this.)

Good luck everybody! Its a flexibility day today!

Just go an idea to keep me motivate to make more execise. For each 15 minutes of excercises/ pole/ stretching/ other, i will give myself 1 kilometer (or you can pick a mile). And i we see how far i can go or in how long can i reach to another veener or better to Veena's place big-grin

A little bit like a airmiles system but without the chance to travel in real, to bad lol

Mellie - Ok, I'm in! I did a 29 day challenge at my studio and I increased my water intake, ate as vegan as possible, make protein shakes every morning, cut out processed sugar and dairy, and washed my face in the am and pm (I'm lazy and always forget to wash at night!). I lost 2 inches off my waist and 4 mm of belly fat. Then I fell off the wagon and need some motivation. This is perfect!!

My goals:
Increase water to at least 64 oz a day
Eliminate processed sugar (I'm pretty dairy free now)
Make the delicious protein shakes again!
Eat cleaner. As raw/vegan as possible with a meat type protein once a week (no beef, chicken or turkey)
Cardio! Currently at one day/week. Make it at least three
Practice Pole at Least 4 x per week
Pilates at least 4x per week.

Woot woot!

It was hard to even write down my goal, but here it is.  At the end of 100 days I would like to seduce my husband with a provocative dance.

A while ago, I realized that I was uncomfortable being consciensly seductive.  I decided to develop that side of myself but stalled.  A couple of years ago, I bought a dvd to help me The irresistible art of exotic dance."  I bought the cute outfit.  I practiced in private for a little while.

But I never went forward.  I was wating to get rid of my belly, and become really good.  Years later the dvd still sits in my underwear drawer.  I have watched videos, been a member of this site,  started pole dancing lessons, considered more dvds to buy, bought the booty clap dvd and fell in love with moves that I have seen other people do.  But I am no closer in doing a dance of my own.

Some things I need to do to accomplish my goal.

1. Get a dvd player that hooks up to my computer so that I can practice in private and not in the public living room.

2.  Arrange for childcare ( I have had a baby in the interim)

3.  Get more fit, lose more of the baby weight.  (More on how I will accomplish this later)

I am so excited to be part of this 100 day challenge. I'm new to this site. Here are my goal;

-Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day - I always fail at this but I going to   stick to it

-Finish the 90 day Julian Michaels DVD...I'm 3 weeks in!

-Do the six week split

-Pole at least 2x a time week/Practice floor work also.

-Don't eat after 8 p.m.

-Stop drinking soda

-Lose 10 lbs, hopefully 15

-Get enough courage to pole dance in front of my husband

-Complete the booty clap DVD

-Eat Right - Everyone knows what this means!

GOOD LUCK EVERY ONE!

Wow, I am really excited so many people are on board - of course anyone can join whenever they want.

@ Black Rose: tell me about  the booty clap DVD; is it good?  Is it hard?

@ monary: hang in there!!  I think you will feel great if you can do that dance for your husband.

Today I weighed myself: 161 lbs - goal weight 147...

on May 19, 2012 from , Midwest -
Mellie - Yes! Do tell about the booty clap DVD. I feel as if I am missing a much needed muscle that will assist me in booty pops and claps!

So I failed my first day. I'm camping with my husband and bought a bunch of snacks. But, as soon as we return to civilization, BRING IT! I did, however, bring my little blender, protein powder and frozen fruit and bananas so I am making us smoothies for breakfast. (did I mention that we have full hook ups. It's not like we are in the boondocks, civilized just means near my pole)

Ok everyone. Get with the challenge embracing!

Oh! And I have modified my challenge. To post a monthly challenge video since I keep putting it off! I am starting next month, June. Anyone know if the challenge is posted yet?

Xoxoxo,

ginger78 - I need to dig myself out of my rut too. Will be posting a few goals soon. Major one is to get out of my poor pitiful me depression and get back out into the world and into my fitness routine again. Losing that 10 pounds I gained due to the above. Getting some of my shaky pole moves stronger and nailing an invert into Superman.

Cocoa0 - I'm in! I sprained my wrist a few months ago and lost alot of strength. So my main goal will be to get my wrist (and body) back to where it was. Maybe even nail a TG or SM deadlift.

Goal #2 I want to be able to grab my foot over my head. I feel like it's something I should be able to do and it's frustrating as hell that I can't!

Goal #3 Splits all ways. I need to square my fronts and get the last few inches of my middles. (and by "few inches" I mean a foot :-/ I just want to be able to fake a middle split convincingly)

Goal #4 Insert hippie dippy "Eat, Pray, Love" crap here <--- ;)

Oooh I love this!  I have been "too busy" to pole yet I have been boozing all weekend.  So maybe posting this will give me some motivation... :)  And I will definitely have to shame myself because I can't think of anything else that will make me get off my lazy ass!  LOL

1.  Get my center splits- practice at least twice a week.  I have my other two but my center splits are like 2 feet off the floor  I've had Alethea Austin's DVDs since February and I haven't even gotten through the whole thing yet.  Ughh!

2.  Pole once a week.  I currently pole maybe once a month and the occasional pole move on a unsuspecting street sign.  I own a pole and I really should take advantage of it.

3.  Practice transitions in addition to tricks.

4.  Pole moves I want to get:  Flat jade, allegra, spinning scorpio, and getting better at spin mode.

5.  Hula hoop every day :D  And hoop with fire once a week.  My goal is to start performing with hoops.

How is everyone doing on meeting their goals so far?  I know some of you joined in more recently, so it might not be time for you to report just yet.

I've been doing okay - I was going to wait until tomorrow to post but I have time to do it now.  I have definitley been working out more and drinking way more water.  Also, I have been getting enough rest most of the time.  I would rate this past week overall as not a total failure, but I didn't do that great.

The big thing I really need to focus on this upcoming week is NOT smoking (obviously).  I "normally" don't smoke or smoke rarely, but I have gotten into a terrible habit of smoking daily for quite some time and I am really starting to feel like crap.  I can really notice when I'm doing a workout DVD and I'm getting winded where I never used to.  So, on top of my goals of BBL, water, sleep, and poling, this week I am not drinking OR smoking.  It is going to be hard because my husband is such a terrible influence.  It's easier to just say, "No, thanks," if he asks me if I want a beer or to go smoke because if I say I'm trying to quit, he'll just try to talk me into it.  Sheesh, he's normally a very good husband but when it comes to this area, I guess not!

on May 24, 2012 from , Midwest -
Black Rose -

So I started off great last week but I did not lose any weight. I didn't drink the 8 glasses a water a day & I did not do any pole dances.I was so busy but that shouldn't be an excuse. I am very disappointed but I am not giving up. So this is a new week hopefully I will focus and see a change.

As for the Booty clap DVD, It a good DVD. However, its hard to see the booty shake because they are wearing a black leggings and the background is black. I understand in the booty clap forum the reason for the black was not to show to much to make people uncomfortable or to give off the wrong impression. But I wanted to see more shaking to make sure I was doing it right. The warm up is five mins, there is a lot of explaining how you should shake, its a work out for the legs and butt. Some upper body exercise because you have your butt in the air in a few exercises. It's a amateur made DVD but a fun DVD. I heard there will be a part two but I need to get part one finished before I can move on. I was very tired by the end. Because my right knee I could not do some exercises. I like this DVD but I would wait on more reviews before someone wanted to buy it.

5. lose 10lbs.

6. do cardio workout to increase stamina.

7. pole twice a week with pole practice, also twice a week. (Learn how to do moves in spinning pole)

8. cleaner tricks and longer spins.

Doing well so far, sticking to my goals. Eating is my biggest hurdle, I'm eating at a "maintenance" level so its still not bad, but I want to do better. I got the furthest down in my front splits yesterday during flexibility training. Today is a strength training day. Slowly but surely, I am getting better. I am not progressing nearly as quickly with pole moves as many other people. I just yesterday for the first time ever did a crucifix without hands and held it. I still can't seem to do a no handed pole sit, I've been trying for over a year now, and my stomach is always in the way, feeling like if I let go, I'll fall backwards. The lessons say get as high up on the thighs as you can for the clamp, I do that and my tummy is on the pole. I'm also confused because in the lessons, you lean away from the leg crossed on top. SOOO many people lean the other way in their photos, with the crossed knee creating the angle to hold the grip. I don't understand. I'm frustrated, feeling very stressed over everything, but I never give up. I'm going to the studio soon, I reeeeally hope someone in person can help me figure out what is up.

Hooray on getting the plank!!!!! Yay for sticking to our goals!!!! :-D DLuxx, don't get down on yourself and try not to compare your progress with others (that's a sure fire way to a bad mood). Lately I'm trying to celebrate the moves I DO know rather than focus on those that I'm struggling with because I'll get all depressed. I know for me, I'll get a weird move on the first try, yet there are some beginner moves that I'm still struggling with. I can't explain why my body takes to some moves easier than others, but it happens to us all. I hope that someone is able to help you get that move, sometimes all it takes is someone to point a tiny detail out to us and like magic everything falls into place :)

AmmaJelani - Hi all!

I know this already started but I want/need in! I bought a pole before taking even one lesson because instinctively I knew that this (polling) was for me. Well my pole has been up in my livingroom since Jan. i have been around my pole maybe a dizen times and I've climbed it maybe 3 times. I keep telling myself that i am afraid to go to a studio and then i go on and start believing myself and I don't go. The longer I look at my pole the more ridiculous I start to feel but when I imagine myself polling I become very intrigued and excited!

My goals (can I update this section later?):
Start pole classes at a studio (my birthday is two weeks away. Would love to be going to class by then)
No white sugar, flour, rice
Eat cleaner, lighter, healthier foods.
Exercise my body 4 - 5 days per week
Two 20 min meditation per day
Lose15 pounds

Good luck to All

Of course you can join int, AmmaJelani!  Get on that pole, already!

I have been pretty good this week and I have started Veena's lessons, which are already feeling quite helpful.  I haven't actually met any of my goals completely, but I have been doing them, so that is good.  I am making progress.

This week I would like to:

Not smoke every day this week

Continue drinking lots of water

Do pole workout and BBL 3X each

Do three hours of stretching

Eight hours of sleep per night

Study at least twenty minutes a day for the LSAT

Come on Week #3!!!

@Porshka - Thank you for starting this thread!  Almost everything you said is the same as my current situation.  I have been in such a lazy rut and my pole progress has gone no where for months now.

So I would love to join in even though I'm a little late to the party!

My 100 day goals are:

#1 - Be confident enough to dance for my husband.

#2 - Be confident enough to post my first video.

#3 - Get my invert.

#4 - Have a strong reverse grab spin.

#5 - Be comfortable with freestyle dance. (I love to dance & do great with a routine, but freestyle seems almost impossible for me!)

My weekly goals to accomplish the 100 day goals are:

#1 - Loose 20 lbs

#2 - Pole 3 times a week.

#3 - Stretch 3 times a week.

#4 - Do 3 songs of freestyle dance a week.

#5 - Only eat fast food once a week. (instead of my current 5 times a week!!)

#6 - Work out upper body 5 times a week.

That ought to do it!  Good luck everyone!

Thanx for this amazing thread! I also want to get in (altough, I know it's late...)!

I've got so many goals I want to fullfill, especially I've been working on the basic invert for a really long time, and from day to day I can perform it, but I want to be able to perform it any time, any day, without effort. So that will be my main goal. I hope a month will be enough for that one.

I need to improve my strenght, so that I ca do the headstand, handstand and catslide.

I also want to more fluid in free dancing and floorwork.  And of course, improve flexibility and strenght. It would be nice to loose some pounds as well, but main goal will be on gaining strenght and getting some conditioning.

To accomplish this, I've decided to:

-attend a strenght training class once a week

-1 hour cardio / day (bycykling for work will do it, or jogging, spinning or a dance class)

-attend one dance class a week (need inspiration)

-eat the half a kilo of fruit and veggies a day, considering one portion of raw food a day

-attend the pole studio at least once a week

Thank you so much girls, and good luck with your goals! Keep it up!

Since it is a week since I set my goals mabye it is time to evaluate how things are going.

For now, I think things are going quite alright. During this week I have attended 2 yoga classes, three strenght training classes, one dance class and one spinning class. But, I have not been to the pole dance studio, which could be seen as one thing to work on for the next week. I have been training with the routines video by jamilla though, so always something :) as for he cardio, I have been using my bycycle everyday, approxiamately for 1,5 hour a day, and will have to do so for a long time now, so hopefully I will be in a really good shape in a couple of months :)

Well it has been almost 2 weeks since I set my goals and unfortunately it has been a complete failure so far.  I haven't really stuck to anything sad  So I am starting fresh today and am more motivated this time.  How is everyone else doing with their goals?

@JessesGirl96 -

I know just how you feel!  Don't give up.  My first three weeks haven't been a total bust, but...well...I haven't accomplished as much as I wanted, to put it mildly.  Like, not zero but almost zero.  And then I always really beat myself up over it.  Oh, and I won't be posting a video by Friday.

But the key to success is not giving up even when you fail miserably, so we will just pick ourselves up and keep trying...

On a positive note, I am really glad I have a Veena Gold membership.  I really like the progression of moves and I feel like doing the conditioning has made me stronger and I have hardly even done anything (boo me, yeah Veena...).

@Jessiegirl96 - I know how you feel too! I havent been good with keeping up either. I did get a nemesis move down, but flexi training and training pole have been much less than ever before. I've been so stressed with work, wich I havent been used to for a year or so, so I have skipped my training in order to fit in work. :/ And now Im sick with the flu! Luckly I have finished my work and im looking at a peaceful summer, so it pole pole pole, before I start school.

Well, tomorrow I'm busy so I'm going to weigh-in now about last week's progress and this week's goals.

Progress: def getting stronger but this week I accomplished zero.  Well, I worked out once and studied once.  I did weigh myself and I am under 160lbs (on a good day), which I haven't been in quite some time, so that is exciting.  In fact, I want to say that over the last year I've lost about 20lbs.  Not quite, but close.

Anyway, this week I want to get in my three upper + abs, three lower + stretching and eat gluten-free as an experiment.

kgarner - It's late but I think I'm going to join in.. This is a great way to make myself accountable.
I started setting goals last week, so this post will publicized those goals and be and update on progress.
My goals are 60 days goals in a hope to be where I want to be before my trip to China in August.
Goal: Lose 20lbs or two dress sizes. (starting weight: 175, size:12)

How I am going to get there:
Go to boot camp work out classes Mon-Thursday.
Include 2 days of flexibility training
1 day of pole conditioning
Eat more veggies, and protein with less emphasis on grains and fruit in my diet.

So this week I've done ok, I went to the boot camp classes Tuesday - Thursday. I did ok with my diet but still didn't get enough veggies or protein throughout the week. And haven't done any stretching or pole work as of yet. I plan on doing pile work and stretching on my "off" days from the boot camp classes since they are super intense.

Good luck to all and keep up working towards your goals! YOU CAN DO IT!

It’s been a while and so far I’ve failed. However, I am not giving up and have about 63 days left give or take! I started weight watchers so that should be a big help. And I started doing Pilates in the mornings and working out at night again. The Pole dancing is still a struggles… it was fun now it’s getting a little hard to do! But I am not giving up!

This week I lost 3lbs on weight watcher and worked out everyday! I drank about 6 glasses of water a day...that was very hard to do! Haven't done any pole dancing yet but hopefully this week! Keep up the hard work everyone!

Good work, Black Rose!  Just keep trying at it....

So...the last 1 1/2 weeks has pretty much been a bust/total flop for me.  I've been sick, working a lot, staying up too late.  Today I think I have a pretty good shot at getting back on track, although perhaps it is time to re-evaluate my 100-Day goals, because I don't think I can meet them now.  My splits progress has improved quite a bit, as well as some pole strength.

Oh, and I will have some time off because I just got F*CKING FIRED for sexually harassing someone at work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It was a total BS claim that was clearly retaliation for something I reported.  Ugh...

I guess I should check in since it's been a couple weeks.  I have lost 8 lbs so I think I am on track to meet my weight loss goals.  As far as my weekly workout & pole goals I haven't been meeting those very well.  So I guess I will just be happy to have a little bit of positive progress.

@Porshka - I'm sorry to hear about your job.  sadHopefully an even better one comes along for you!

Porshka -

@JessesGirl96 - thanks!  I'm not really that upset over it.  I wasn't really crazy about that job, so whatever..

I'm starting to think that the end result of my 100-Day challenge will be to just get to a point where I have a routine and have cut out all my bad habits.  Although I have really improved now that I think about (thanks in part to Veena, who's lessons have helped a great deal!), I am still quite far from my goals.  It is more like I am trying to get to a place where I can even set goals and expect to meet them.  So...we'll see, I guess.

Update

Its going in the right direction now. I've trained 2 times this week, doing my third today or tomorrow. I've been doing sidesplit-middlesplit and back mobility routines this week. I've perfected my scorpio. This last month I have learned the butterfly (rough) and reverse grab. Just need to keep it up! :D

Hey - thought I'd check in because I haven't in quite a while.  I have not been making any progress or working out at all.  Instead, I have been dealing with some extremely crippling anxiety for the past three weeks or so.  Ugh...it's just been a big mess.  Finally, yesterday I got some anti-anxiety medication and am just enjoying not being on the edge of freaking out constantly, to put it mildly.  So...that's what I've been up to.  Although I will say I've lost about 10 lbs from lack of appetite, but certainly not in a healthy way.  Keep up the good work to everyone else!

Hey everyone! I haven't been able to check in too often now, and well, aren't doing too well with my goals... But I figired they were maby to many of them so I would be happy with the progress I have been making in many of them.

And to Porshka, sorry to hear that, but happy that the med is working :) sometimes, I find that it helps just to let go of what you think that you are supposed to do, and freestyle, especially when it comes to pole. I remember a time when I started to pole, and just thought it was fun, and with al those moves that I'm supposed to know and do and practice, I just loose the motivation to practice at all. Maby it could help you overcome your anxiety? I know for sure that poling has helped me tremendously in getting rid of my former anxiety and depression since it was a way to express myself and getting my thought to go somewhere else. Hope you get back on track soon! You can do it!

Hmm...well, it's way past the end date of this challenge and I hadn't checked in for a long time and was hoping to at least read about everyone else's progress.  Not a lot of info here, so I guess I'll post my last post for this thread.

My challenge (which I started, BTW) was a complete bust.  I was doing okay but after basically having a nervous breakdown in July and not poling for two months, I made zero progress and reached none of my goals.  Except maybe I did lose the weight but that was from not eating for a month, so I wouldn't call that a victory.  I would say that I feel like a failure, BUT I have started poling/working out again (just a few times) and I think my medication is helping me psychologically.  Also, I'm pleased to say that I didn't lose nearly as much strength and flexibility as I thought I would have, so my progress doesn't seem too delayed.

So, even though I didn't accomplish any of my goals, I can end my thread on a positive note, at least.  Oh, and I did get a new, way better job as a receptionist at a law firm.  I make way more money (still not a lot, but I wasn't making sh!t at my old job) and now that I work at 8am everyday, I don't drink during the week and don't drink as much on the weekends.  So maybe I did get to some of my goals in a happy-accident kind of way.

So...looking forward to being part of the Veena community once more.

I'm not sure I'm getting this, is there a new 100 day challenge starting now that the one before is over? Or are we just setting goals for ourselves whenever we want?

If a new one is starting, I would like to join in!

on Sep 8, 2012 from , -
Alysse Kiss - SAAR I think it's our own individual goals for a 100 day challenge. If that's the case I want to: (1) get down to 125, I currently range between 144-137 depending on the day. (2) Do controlled inverts (3) Learn tricks to do with the basic invert (4) work on getting my middle splits lower or get them completely down to the ground (5) Get some open studio time with silks and lyra. (6) do more art!!!!!

Okay, so maybe some other people would also like to start with us now? Or Porshka you want to start over with new goals? Since you have that pole sit down now, you can aim for the next move ;-)

My main goal would be to get back to the point where I was when I quit... and gain more flexibility because I didn't really have that back then eather!

So...

1. practice everything we do in the studio another 2x at home before the next class

2. go running 2x a week (on days I don't poledance)

3. stretching well after every workout (so that means 5 times a week), try to get some improvement on my front and middle splits.

4. Stop eating junkfood and drink more water, not alcohol!  cool

If I can do those 4 things, I should be back in shape in 100 days I think.

I have one huge benifit:I have already quit smoking a few months ago, otherwise that would be on there too!

Well, I figured it was over, but I'm game for another try!  I'll have to think about some new ones...How does setting the date to finish being 100 days from this Friday (Sept 14) sound to everyone?  That will give more people a chance to join (although people can join whenever they want).  Does Sunday, December 16 sound right?

Porshka -

Well, for this time around, I'm going to start out a bit more conservatively.  So, I'm only going to make goals for the next ten days, and they are going to be very simple.

Over the next ten days, I will complete seven resistance-stretching routines, seven pilates ab-workouts, five lower-body workouts and five upper-body workouts.  The lower-body workouts will be ballet-based and the upper-body workouts will be push-ups, pull-ups/chin-ups and pole work.

Also, I will get eight hours of sleep every night and only get up one hour later than I do on weekdays, so that will mean 7:30 am on the weekends (probably the hardest of these goals!).

In ten days, I will re-evaluate my progress and make another set of goals for the next ten days.  That date will be September 23.

Saar - I was planning an update next friday, but this I just had to share right now: 3 days in and... I got my shoulder mount back!! Now that's a spirit booster!

Okok, maby a bit late.. But well well.. Here we go again.

My main goals is increased flexibility and strenght. I will also be more persistent in my invert practise (which has for most times just not happened at all...)

But, now on a weekly basis (for the next week at last) I will:

-do daily stretches (yoga) and meditation

-8 hours of sleep

-attend taekwondo class 2 times

-attend a strenght training class 2 times

-1 hour of cardio per day

-eat at least 1/2 kilo of fruit and veggies per day

-increase intake of protein (in form of fish)

Good luck to me! :P and good luck to all of you hard working ladies!

I'm late in posting my progress but here it is: I almost made my goals - just one or two days missed.  I didn't get my sleep goals, though.  I think I was overly ambitious in how often I would work out.

Next goal date is October 3.  I want three hours of working out, three hours of stretching and eight hours of sleep.  Oh, also no alcohol for the rest of the month (which I realize is not very long).

So I made my list put it on the fridge for bf to see, put in on bathroom mirror, gargage door, and soon in car somewhere.

Yet bf had to try to defy it. What is with him trying to push my willpower,? He did/does this all the time with my pole studio's pole classes and fitness bootcamp.

I like to workout so I have membership to Planet Fitness (he could go with me) and we have a couples membership at another gym that has a pool (planet fitness doesn't, I want to learn to swim and relax in a spa after some invert (true reason for signing up at the gym))

He has yet to go. He isn't in bad shape, just not the best. He does out run me in speed, not endurance; when we go to the park to jog. I'm not a runner, jogger- neaaa, kinda. I said if we were at the gym we can jog/run together side by side at our own pace.

He complains I'm never home, I want to be a stripper (due to pole fitness?), you're too tired or sore for intimacy (arguement not valid- just....I won't go there)

But I'm gonna to try! And my argument is 'There is not try, only do.'

Anywho. I'm always a motivator for others and want a physical motivator I can run (haha) to speak to when at home discouraged.

SO keep it up Veeners!!
