ÆRA presents "Chasing the Sun" and Polesque

ÆRA is going to Los Angeles! This June 22, ÆRA will present a new piece, "Chasing the Sun" and produce its first ever west coast Polesque!

The event will take place at the Automobile Driving Museum, 610 Lairport Street El Segundo, CA 90245, which is 2 miles from the International Pole Convention. The special evening will start with Polesque, a combination of burlesque performances and a pole dancing competition. After Polesque there will be a short intermission and then ÆRA will debut their latest work, "Chasing the Sun". This aerial diptych will span the wide range of the aerial arts and will have something for everyone.

ÆRA is going west to the city of Los Angeles, trying to put off the passing of another day by chasing the sun.
You know that moment before you realize this is the is the best party you've ever been to, or just before you start to pull away from a kiss, when everything is perfect and you're not thinking, you are just in it?
That is what we want to create. That's where we want to be all the time but everything else gets in the way.
So maybe, when we go to this land of dreams, this place where the sun sets last, we will be able to capture this moment, even if its only for that short time that we are on stage.
Polesque is a combination of burlesque performances and a pole dancing competition. Its first ever time across the Mississippi, Polesque brings its blend of cutting edge burlesque and competitive pole dancing to Los Angeles. Straddling the line between art and spectacle, risque and risky, Polesque is not to be missed. As always there will be surprise performances from some of the world’s best in burlesque. This is the fifth installment of Polesque, past competitors include Michelle Stanek, Steven Retchless, Tracee Kafer, and "The Diva" Roz. Who will compete from the amazing community of pole dancers on the other side of this great land?

ÆRA is a Brooklyn based aerial dance company, we aim to create and share experiential art with the world. We combine original choreography and apparatus such as fabric, pole, and rope in a multimedia setting to create a shared experience between the performer and the audience.
